We stayed here and found the hotel comfortable and the staff helpful. The reception was being cleaned within an inch of its life! There was a cooler of water with fruit in the water which was lovely.

The reception staff were wearing Stanford (local team) shirts in support of a game - plus the actual team came in that same night clutching pillows after a team talk/team movie.

The receptionists were always helpful (we had a few local questions) and the waiter Marco was v nice when we had a meal in the restaurant (we were the only people there)

You do need a car to go and eat anywhere but thats the case in the USA generally. We had breakfast in a starbucks there are two on the same road. The restaurant opposite the hotel got good reviews but is being shut for a re vamp, we ate in the Crown Plaza restaurant (bit atmosphereless as we were only diners but as I said above Marco looked after us really well and the food was good) Europeans beware kitchen closes quite early.

Nice pool nice room. Something I really like a little dimmer in the bathroom so you dont need a full light on if you go to the bathroom. Also a little coffee tea maker kettle gizmo that is well designed. Little gym on the first floor (again for Europeans this is the one above reception)

Wif fi good - works in room and by pool

All in all very nice thanks and loved Palo Alto also.Would completely recommend this hotel if it fits your budget.

Room Tip: We asked for one that did not have an adjoining door. The rooms all appeared to be non smoking also.

Stayed at this hotel with my sister and her two kids last weekend. From the moment we pulled up to the parking lot we felt we had made a great choice. The hotel is beautiful and VERY clean. Every staff member we had contact with from the General Manager to the Maintenance man cleaning the pool had a fantastic attitude and made us feel like family. We stayed in a Cabana suite on the second floor and it was AMAZING! The kids had tons of room to move around, and there were so many great extras including a mini fridge, microwave, 2 bath robes, dining room table, outdoor patio, etc. On Sunday morning they had a brunch that could take your breath away with so many choices, you don't even know where to start! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the area, it truly is a Gem!

Hotel Cabana is legit. Nice rooms, great service, priced just right and an excellent pool. The pool has service now. So, if you want to relax poolside, they will bring you drinks and appetizers. This place gives you the "vacation" feeling. They have a pretty good Sunday Brunch as well.

I have stayed here several times over the last few years, and always found the room quiet, roomy and clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly and helpful. The lounge is pleasant, but was often pretty empty when I was there, and the breakfast buffet meets expectations, with extra focus on the healthy items like fruit. The 60's look as you drive up gains some cred when you learn that the Beatles stayed there in 1963, which is posted in the elevator. If you are lucky, you may get the Beatles decor room, with pictures, newspapers from the Beatles stay, and a copy of the police security plan for the visit, which included posting local high school football players at the stairs and elevators to make sure there was no unauthorized fan entry. A contemporaneous newspaper article describes the Beatle's departure to their concert disguised in a laundry van, only to discover Ringo (it had to be Ringo) was left behind requiring a return and second escape. All in all a fun place to stay, especially for boomers who can recall the sixties.

Room Tip: Facing the pool with a balcony also gives you a view of the mountains in the distance.

Dear Silverspringer1,

Thank you so much for taking the time to give the Cabana a great review! We appreciate your loyal patronage to the Cabana and look forward to welcoming your return. The hotel was orginally owned by Doris Day and her then hubby, Jay Sarno who designed the original facade. We try to give a nod to that era with a retro feel through little touches in the hotel, which is seen is many design elements (retro carpet design, the original exterior facade on the Lanai section and have kept the original pool design) throughout and yes of course, the Beatles Suite. We wish to see you again soon, please reach out if we can attend to any special requests for your next stay with us.

Many Thanks!

We were in Palo Alto on business, and had a hard time finding a decent place to stay without paying several hundred dollars for it. You need a car to get to this hotel (it is located off of El Camino Real, the main road in Palo Alto, but too far to walk from the CalTrain stations). The lobby is very nice and welcoming, the restaurant is usually full and many evenings, they have special events going on. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bed was comfrotable. The pool area is fenced in, and despite the fact that the hotel did not seem all that full (few cars in the parking lot in the three days we were there), the pool was always crowded with many many children. So, not at all quiet and relaxing. We were less dissapointed by this after we discovered that the pool is not heated, so dipped into the hot tub for just a few minutes until the screaming children became overly loud. Made me wonder whether during the day they have a deal with local families for their kids to attend the pool, since many of them did not look like they were guests at the hotel. So, if you are looking for a place to sleep at night, this will do, especially given the reasonable rates on the weekends by Palo Alto standards. If you are looking for a peaceful swim in the pool, look elsewhere.

Dear HBM07,

Thank you so much for the review of the Crowne Plaza Cabana in Palo Alto. My sincere apologies that the pool was not warm enough for you, we will have the Chief of Maintenance take a look at the water temperature right away. The hotel has been busy, but I am not clear what days you were here from the review. We will be sure to increase our Hotel checks, ensuring that only Hotel guests are at the pool. We do have many guests that stay due to the fun that can be had at the pool, my apologies that it was not as peaceful as you would have liked.

I am glad to hear that you felt the room size was good and that the room was nice and clean! I will be sure to share that with the team as we work hard to make sure the Hotel is looking good at all times. We do hope you will join us again in the future and that you are able to relax and enjoy the pool next time. Thank you so much for staying with us, and we love to hear your feedback as it helps us improve the experience for all our guests.

Many thanks!

Rooms large, clean typical standard US hotels, don't look for charm but comfort. The pool is actually good and good service around the pool....We stayed there 3 days after a long trip and could take advantage of the better weather and sun than in San Francisco bay...
Food is basic, but correct.
For breakfeast, you have as well a starbuck close by if you like good coffee...

Dear PeirreH63,

Thank you so much for your recent review of the Crowne Plaza Cabana Palo Alto. We appreciate your business and recent visit to the area. The weather in Palo Alto is AMAZING this time of year, and the pool weather here is awesome. Cool breeze with 80 degrees and no rain. San Francisco can be a bit more fickle with the summer fog that rolls in daily, I can attest to it as I live in Noe Valley and can watch the marine layer from my living room! That aside, so happy to hear pool service was good and enjoyable. we appreciate your review of the Cabana. If we need more charm, perhaps you could share your ideas with me directly? I'd love to hear you out for any ideas you have. My contact information is attached below. We look forward to seeing you,and hope you visit us again in the future.

Sincerely,
