If this place wasn't in Palo Alto the rooms would be $49.99 a night. Comfort Inn Palo Alto looks decent from the outside but inside the rooms and lobby are poorly appointed, old and grungy. My room smelled funny, the wall paper was peeling, the electrical outlets we're messed up, and the plumbing repairs were sloppy. Overall a dive. I don't want to go back.
Very Clean...close to Stanford Hospital. Quiet, ample parking...Nice little breakfast, very accommodating staff. Would definitely stay again! Special ADA accommodations were met to the tee!

Lobby smelled of unwashed bodies. Lobby also where “breakfast “is served, although the only seating is a couch and one chair. Outside there are 3 small plastic round tables with attached benches, so you pretty much have to go pick up your breakfast and eat in your room. Can’t speak for the food as the coffee was so bad and the room so unpleasant we never actually ate breakfast there. The room was just shabby, and dirty. Even though the carpet was brown, it was also dirty, mildew in the bathroom, dirty tile floor, very low toilet and broken toilet seat. All topped off by slow internet & unfriendly staff. The good stuff? , comfortable bed, quiet area & ventilation unit worked quietly. Hope Choice Hotels either comes down hard on this place or removes their name. Makes the brand look bad
Good: Location, parking right by room (Motel style property), comfortable beds
Not so good: overall rooms are outdated, carpet needs to be replaced, shower pressure weak, noisy A/C system
Overall not the worst place I stayed at, but close to the bottom of the list in terms of comfort/price.
Good coffee shop opposite Hwy82, easy access - have not tried the free breakfast in the "lobby"
Had 2 rooms both overpriced at $350 each for a Monday night! I'm sure the Gm will respond, but would love to challenge him and staff to spend some money on the property
and do a walk around every couple of weeks, how about touch paint for railings, should be done every other week! Pressure wash stairs and side walks. Buy some new entry mats, how about 2018 a/c units. Someone is banking all the profits and spending very little! The first thing you see is the office, again paint, how about a real internet station?
