Comfort Inn Palo Alto

The room itself was clean and the bed was decent. The guy at the front desk was very friendly and the free wifi was one of the reasons I booked this hotel.
Cons- extremely noisy! The road is busy, even at midnight. I can hear almost every noise from the parking lot, the walkway, and the adjacent rooms - people speaking, doors, faucets, toilets, etc. The water pressure is poor as well.

Don't stay at this motel unless you're doing business and don't intend to spend too much time there. It has a kind of half clean feeling. The beds are very mediocre. The breakfast, not too bad, but I really never ate much of it. I was in California on business so it sufficed, but I definitely would not recommend this hotel for any kind of vacation.

I does, though, have some OK restaurants nearby, including a Starbucks. And, the neighborhoods surrounding it are nice and great places to run and/or walk.

We arrived early (2:00 PM) and asked to check-in. We were given a room immediately as requested. The receptionist was nice. Our room, 126, is probably not typical of other rooms at the hotel. It has an alcove outside the door for an electrical cabinet. As a result, our room was probably 3 feet shorter than other rooms. The King bed allowed minimal space on both sides for clothing bags, computer bags and briefcase. Worse yet, there was not enough space between the foot of the bed and the desk to allow a person to walk past someone working at the desk. The room was clean, the bed and chairs were comfortable, but we felt cramped. Every thing worked fine as expected. No problems with the TV or shower. Strange creaking noises from rooms above ours on both nights. A decent hotel, but I won't stay here again, and I won't recommend it to another. Breakfast was ordinary. Sausage, eggs and coffee. I've had much better at other Choice Hotel properties. We also noticed the carts of dirty laundry parked outside the hotel's laundry room, and a full trash receptacle near the entrance from El Camino Avenue. Palo Alto has become an expensive place to stay overnight. I normally expect more room and comfort for over $100/night before tax.

this location is very typical of Comfort Inn. King room was slightly small with a desk, one chair, microwave and fridge, and a decent size bathroom.
The bed was comfortable, and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. this is an older hotel with exterior hallways.
4 carts of dirty laundry sat in the parking lot overnight, that was a little disappointing.
with taxes, my one night stay was $190. Anywhere else outside of the bay area the room would cost $79 a night.
Its a clean and comfortable hotel, but the the prices are simply outrageous. But every hotel in the area is overpriced due to demand. If you are willing to travel 30 miles or so, and face traffic, you can cut you lodging costs by 30%.

This Comfort Inn is located fairly close to Stanford University and has special rates for patients and family. Call ahead and tell the person on duty of your circumstances. They book the Stanford reserved rooms quite rapidly so you definitely need to reserve a room as far in advance of your visit as possible.

Room Tip: Ask for a downstairs room at the back of the hotel. They are quiet rooms and parking is abundant.

I stayed here because all of my normal haunts were booked or charging insane prices. The check-in clerk was exceedingly helpful. The room was clean. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. The complementary breakfast in the morning was ready early and had all of the things that most hotel chains offer. Absolutely no complaints. I would stay there again if I needed an affordable place near Palo Alto.

The place was tidy and clean. Friendly reception. It has standard complimentary breakfast. The end room was quiet and comfortable. Conveniently located near Stanford and good foods. Will certainly stay again.
