“Wonderful, amazing and rather nice too!”
Reviewed July 8, 2008

The Creekside Inn housed our June wedding party of about 40 people. First, the place is beautiful, with a real creek running through it! They have rooms in about four different buildings which was really helpful for keeping the bride and groom apart on the wedding day. Kerrilynn in reservations and the front desk staff helped with booking our rooms (the bride and groom separately on the night before and then the honeymoon suite the night of), parents (and their hospitality suite), family (all over the place from all over the country) and friends (including an impromptu after party-the rooms are WELL insulated!). Every room was clean and comfortable. The attached restaurant held our rehearsal dinner and fed some of our guests on their own. It has a good and varied menu. It was convenient and delicious.

We will definitely go back (we newlyweds need some private time to actually enjoy the place). We highly recommend them for a nice, friendly, non-monstrosity place to relax on the peninsula.

Really liked this place (you can get a lower rate than what TripAdvisor says). The rooms are a tad small, but nicely appointed. The bed is very comfortable. We had a patio on the creek and it was really very nice to sit outside and watch the squirells run through the tops of the huge trees on the property, butterflies and hummingbirds are present. It is nice and quiet, almost like a retreat. There are little gardens and pathways throughout the property. The surroundings are just absolutely peaceful. Landscaping is conducive to a restful getaway. Pool is very nice. There is a well equiped exercise room on the property. There is a coin operated laundromat for quests (we were staying ten days while I conducted business in the area). There is a good Deli on site, There is also a restaurant on site. There are morning pastries and coffee. It is conveniently located on the El Camino Real, fairly close to Stanford University. Staff are nice and helpful. We wanted a microwave and rented one from the property for ten dollars for the stay. The room is equipped with a refrigerator and a large TV.

I enjoyed my visit to this hotel. The surroundings were pleasant, the room clean, and there was great food at the restaurant. In particular, I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and accomodating. The shuttle service was a plus, and staff were always willing to help with the shuttle service...with a smile and warmth.

Those who selected Creekside based on photos from the web may be surprised. It really is a made-over motel. Moving beyond that, we found the property to be very clean, and there are conveniences which made it comfortable - free wireless internet; breakfast (only small cakes and muffins, and coffee, but it's something); laundry and a great deli on premises; and free shuttle service to the area.
Despite rough spots, like quirky and unpredictable service, I give this an "above average" because ultimately our stay was fine. The manager is very nice, and some of the staff really were helpful. There are a couple of young women at the desk who were clearly too immature for the job.
Finally, I do think the price was too high, but we did not get comparable prices for the area, so I'm not going to factor that in.

You have to be very careful which room you get. They have rooms in the building that is farthest away from the front desk that have the smallest showers on Earth! If you are over 5 foot you won't be able to wet your hair. I have stayed there many many times and have had several rooms in different buildings. Get one with a bath tub! Cibo's is over priced and doesn't have good hours.
The only bright side of this "Hotel" is the little deli with great sandwiches! the staff there is top notch.
Plus there is a skunk that roams the grounds that I have had incounters with Beware!
Plus to top it all off the beds are hard as nails!

I travel 80% of the year. I’ve stayed in more hotel than I care to think about. The Creekside Inn is one of my favorites. When you’re away from home as much as I am you look for places to stay that you feel comfortable and safe. The management and staff at the Creekside is very friendly and helpful, they remember what customer serivce should be. The hotel sets in a little country setting with the creek running through the property which makes the balconies that much more enjoyable.

The resturant and deli/market attached to the property is great. There is a great Mall within close driving range. The hotel has a car service available at a minimal charge.

The next time you're in Palo Alto give them a try, you'll be glad you did.
