It was my wife's birthday and we went to a wonderful Jazz show at Yoshi's and she felt like a nice desert. So we walked in there admittedly at 10:25pm (On a Saturday Night, btw, Dec 30th 2006) and asked for dessert, and the maitre de told us the kitchen was closed in a curt manner. Then my wife asked if we could just get some dessert and once again the rude answer.
You know, it's a service industry and if two people come in and want a bowl of ice cream because it's her birthday, they can at least be civil.
I would never eat here. Go to Max's in San Francisco for terrific service, food that's done right late into the evening.
This place should go back to Hospitality School -- the key word being "Hospitality."
