The dishes are ok; the occasional comfort food item is not bad. The service is ok, although the seating hosts always seem to be confused when it's busy. But the desserts make the visit worthwhile.

Getting a beer in a juice glass for kids I have never experienced. Absolutely unacceptable. And the beer itself was not good.
The food was fine though.

This spot has a nice bar and lots of outdoor seating. We went for lunch and were very satisfied. We had French onion and cabbage soups that both had good flavor and presentation $6 to $8. The mini Reuben is a must, cut into 6 small bites that you can share $11. French dip was a daily special that I would get again $14.

Lots of choices here but nothing is low cal.......well, maybe a few of the salads but not many. Sandwiches are great and desserts are terrific.

Max's is a pretty standard delicatessen in the Stanford Shopping Center. Not so much "New York Style" as it is "California Style." Standard deli sandwiches are quite good and oversized. Hot entrees are available, and lighter fruit and vegetable salads, wraps, soups, and desserts complete the menu.

The restaurant is open, bright and clean. Service is satisfactory, but not outstanding. Value is average for the area. This is a comfortable and reliable place to have a meal while shopping or travelling. Family set-up is good.
