Probably one of the few authentic Italian restaurants in California. Excellent coffee. Try their sandwiches especially the pollone and the burger.

Some inside tables and lots of outside tables. Excellent Italian Food choices. Coffee & hot chocolate drinks. Multiple selection of sandwiches to choose from. Not open for dinner. Always call to see if they are open as there are times during the year they are closed.

If you are looking for a quick and delicious Italian breakfast, lunch or brunch (on Saturday), head over to red building the Old Stanford Barn across from the Medical Center where you will find a piece of Italy. Inspired by the cooking of his home provinces of Puglia and Emilia-Romagana, Rocco Scordella, the young Italian owner, will wow you with his creations. A large blackboard lists the menu in English and Italian. Everything is freshly made with no additives or preservatives. If you go for breakfast/brunch, try the ricotta stuffed pancakes with fresh fruit and syrup or the Italian frittata with vegetables. For lunch try the pollone panini, crispy fried chicken breast and endive salad on a roll. Freshly made focaccia accompanies all salads and soups. As you sit and sit your frothy cappuccino amidst the lavender and rose bushes, you would be forgiven for thinking that you really are in Italy.

Lovely little place tucked into the Stanford Barn. We had the breakfast paninos (prosciutto, spinach, cheese and a gooey fried egg sandwich). They came with a spring salad which was nice for only $6 each! There's hardly no indoor seating so we sat outside in the sun enjoying our brunch with very good coffee drinks. Can't beat this!
