Description: Sister restaurant of Kokkari, Evvia has been serving beautiful and elegant Greek cuisine since 1995. Fabulous fish, savory roasted meats, and sun-soaked vegetables are jazzed up with a spritz of lemon, a little olive oil, and herbs. There is perfection in simplicity.

Evvia is an upscale restaurant in Palo Alto near University Avenue, offering a fantastic selection of wines and Greek cuisine. It is suggested to make a reservation well in advance if you would not like to be disappointed. The larger the group, the earlier should the reservations we made. My friend made the reservation almost 2 months prior for 15 people. They also offer a pre-planned and agreed upon fixed menu for your guests if so desired.

If you are familiar with this area, you must know that parking is a big pain. So if you would like to save the $6 plus tip valet parking charge (very reasonable), do arrive 20 mins. earlier to find a parking spot. We used valet which was very convenient. The restaurant is not large and is always packed. They really do have a large selection of good wines including a large reserve collection. Service was very good and server – guest ratio was higher than many other restaurants. The quality of food was very good including the desserts but quite pricey. Ambiance was quite good though a bit too noisy perhaps due to the densely packed tables.

I would recommend this restaurant

Around the many streets of Palo Alto there are so many different restaurants to select from, and Evvia is one of those must-go-to places. Starting from the design, the feel is traditional but modernly classy, very clean and neat. The service is very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly as any other well-managed business. The selection of wines, very smart options. Most importantly, the quality of the food is high, no doubts to anyone who has eaten in other Greek restaurants (or whoever has been to and eaten in Athens). Palo Altans are fortunate to have such a diverse array of dining and especially one so tastily different as Evvia.

Καλή όρεξη!

This is a small, outstanding take the boss or wife for her birthday place. And its pricey but worth it. We all know places like this -- classy waiters, hard to get reservations, top quality food. You must like lamb however as the menu is limited being Greek.
But its a small place seating maybe 60-70. So its crowded seating. And LOUD. We got there are 1:00 for lunch and while i could hear my boss sitting across from me, we were a few decibels away from shouting. When 1:30 came around, the noise dropped to casual levels and the diff was dramatic.
It amazes me that restaurants haven't figured out there are many ways to dampen noise. I'm a stereophile and there are many ways, trust me, to take out the echoes and reflected sound. And they can be artistically woven into the walls and looking good. Highly recommended.

This place is a victum of its own success. Yes, the food was creative and good. Yes, the people watching was superb, it is Palo Alto after all. But the noise level was too high to hold any kind of meaningful conversation.

All four of us ordered lamb: kabob, chop, and shank. They were all tasty, but it's hard to go wrong with lamb. Bread was not the great. Service was good, and it does get crowded. we had to go early-5PM to get a reservation day before. It's ok because we got to "walk" University Ave afterwards.
