A blast from the past: charming environment, glorious old-fashioned theatre, old-fashioned prices for popcorn and an amazing organist. We drive her from across the Bay to see movies at least once a month.

A beautifully restored theater (they even have an organist!) that shows old movies seems right at home in downtown Palo Alto. My favorite is when they do the Hitchcock series every year.

Stanford theater is a wonderful place if you like catching up with old Hollywood classics on the bid screen. It will help you relive the old world movie viewing experience. Currently they are playing the 'Hitchcock Film festival'. They are closed on mondays and Tuesdays. Each week they screen 2 movies. The location is accessible and close to the Palo Alto downtown. You can buy popcorn and soda for a very cheap price inside the theater. I love the live organ performance on weekends. This is the perfect spot to see classic movies as they were meant to be seen. The organist that plays before the show is wonderful!
There's a Hitchcock film festival playing through March; I'm looking forward to seeing "North by Northwest" on the big screen!

Come see great, old movies in a grand, restored theater, at a wonderful, low price. Even the candy, popcorn, and soda is cheap! But the experience is fantastic!

But some like to bring a pillow as the chairs (upstairs, at least) are a bit hard. But I don't mind. I love this place!!!
