I recently spent a week at this hotel, in late January 2013.

The hotel is on a busy street, convenient to a lot of shops and restaurants, many within walking distance.

Check in was quick and friendly, and was given the room even though we arrived a few hours earlier than the posted check in time.

The room was basic, but clean. The A/C unit (which also does heating) was a bit on the noisy side, but not too bad. A microwave, fridge, coffee maker and 42" flat screen TV were provided standard.

The breakfast was modest: apples and bananas, two kinds of cereal, milk, orange and apple juices, bread and english muffins (a toaster is available) and little cinnamon rolls.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to write a review of our hotel.

I am glad you enjoyed your week-long stay with us. I am glad that you were able to check-in early - we understand that our guests' travels often bring them to their destination prior to check-in time. I am happy you were able to check-in and get on with your day.

I've stayed here a couple of times with very different experiences. First visit, I was given a downstairs room right next to the stairwell. Older, smelly room with no water pressure at all. Carpets needed to be replaced and furniture/tv needed updating. Second visit, I had a room upstairs to the rear of the property. What a difference! Updated room with nice LCD tv, clean carpet, great water pressure. Both rooms cost the same using an AARP discount. I'm glad I didn't give up on them after my initial experience. Staff has always been friendly & courteous. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

Room Tip: Definitely choose an upstairs room to the rear of the property, away from the El Camino Real.
