If you are visiting downtown Palo Alto, be sure to stop by here for a walk through the beautiful garden. No matter what the season, there will be something to enjoy. There is also the historic Gamble House to visit while you are there. I am a watercolor artist, and I love to go sit in the garden and paint.
Visiting is free.

If you like large formal gardens loved by volunteers then you will like this. Look particularly for the Chinese paperbark which is rare and when the sun is at the back of bits of peeling bark has the most beautiful look

Great if taking a neighborhood walk. Not a destination in itself.

Always go to get a Christmas arrangement custom made - and pick up some greens & berries for other decorations.
