The churrascaria was fairly priced, with ample grilled meats on large skewers being served by waiters strolling throughout the restaurant. The salad and vegetable bar was one of the best I've seen at these types of restaurants. The overall cost was quite reasonable, particularly for this type of restaurant.

The Rodizio is the highlight here and the main reason to come here. The sirlion topside is the best of all the meats...followed by the fillet tenderloin The lamb chop wasn't marinated very well and the lamb leg was a bit tough. I have had better rodizio elsewhere and cheaper too. So all in all, I didn't find Pampas good value for money.

I ordered from the regular menu rather than the rodizio. Lamb chops came as ordered, very nicely grillled with some lovely potatoes. Three (!) chops, no less. The salad bar had a great variety of items, including most notably feijoada. Had I known it was there, I would have saved $$$ and just eaten that. It wasn't the best feijoada I've ever had, but it was good. Service here was very good, and others very very happy with the range and quality of the wines. A solid four stars all around. A little expensive and modestly noisy. It's quieter downstairs, away from the bar.

If you like plenty of good and tasty meat of various types, this is the place. The wine list is very nice. A bit expensive but worth it, especially if you are a larger group

Pampas is a very good, though not outstanding, churrascaria in Palo Alto. A nice location just off of University in downtown. The rodizio plus side bar cost $46 which is not bad for the area. I thought the side bar was very good with a good selection of salad vegetables (all fresh) and marinated vegetables. The side bar also had feijoada, though I didn't partake saving room for the meat. Service was generally good. Our waitress was prompt and professional. The barbecued meats came to the table at a nice pace, certainly faster than we could consume (but of course you can set your own pace with the red/green button on the table). All of the meats were properly cooked and tasty. Finally, Pampas have a very good and extensive wine list. In particular they have a very good selection of South American wines at very good price points relative to US or European wines.
