“An asset to Palo Alto and the world”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

I love Stanford and, as a member of the Palo Alto community, try to enjoy some of the wonderful lectures and sports events Stanford has to offer. It has a nice campus and is delightful to wonder about--I recommend the tour information. The only drawback to Stanford during the day is the lack of places to park. I find it better to take the Stanford shuttle to campus so that I don't have the hassle or expense of a car. If I were younger and braver, I'd bike.

“Never tire of visiting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Mem Chu, as it is called locally, is marvelous. Not the overwhelming marble pillars of Italy, but lovely and accessible stained glass windows and fine decorative touches. I never tire of showing this marvelous church to guests. Although not a religious church goer, I love to hear an organ concert or two, and to go to the Christmas Eve service.

“A perfect memorial”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

Built by Jane Stanford as a memorial to her husband, this church is one of the very ;special' places on the magnificent Stanford campus. Even from the outside the Memorial Church has fascinating architecture, but the inside should be seen to appreciate the full extent of its interest including stained glass windows. The building has survived two substantial earthquakes. Concerts are regularly held here and are well worth attending.

“A true gem and wonderful university”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

Stanford is one of the most inspiring universities in the world. Quite apart from its elite academic standing and reputation it has a truly inspiring campus which is well worth visiting. You can walk for miles enjoying the elegant buildings, landscaping and natural environment in which is set. In term time the campus is inevitably bustling with students from all corners of the globe, most of whom move through the campus on bicycles. The Memorial Church is well worth seeing as is the Hoover Tower and Rodin garden. The campus bookstore is well stocked with souvenirs as well as books and cards. Refreshments are readily available. Spend a day on campus to really absorb the atmosphere and architecture.
