Tropicale is the one restaurant we return to over and over and over. The outdoor patio lives up to the name. You can be outdoors all year as it has misters in summer and gas heaters in winter. The food is excellent and varied. Fresh ingredients are used--organic produce, free range eggs. The staff are friendly and efficient (with one or two exceptions). The indoors is also a pleasure when it is 116 and humid outdoors. The people who are drawn here are all ages, from all cities and countries and many occupations. There is a large gay clientele who are a little older.
Every year there is a Leo party. As a Leo I went for brunch and returned for the evening party.
The decorations were imaginative, the owner dressed as a Lion King, and a good time was had by all. There were free appetizers.
The lighting at night is enchanting and the flowers, fountains, sofas, and music all add to the magic. Any time I have an inferior experience dining out, I return to Tropicale to restore my enjoyment of dining out. If you like quiet, romantic outings come midweek or do brunch. If you are a social buttterfly try weekend evenings or happy hour. You will not regret coming to Tropicale.
Sorry to disagree with those who consider Trio the best of P.S. Every person I have met tells me how much they love Tropicale for the combined food, ambiance and service. You have to go to Europe, San Francisco or Toronto to equal the experience.
