“Great if you get a good rate!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

Spent two nights at the Viceroy mid-week just before Christmas as a little getaway with my boyfriend. My favorite thing about the hotel is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and did their best to accommodate my schedule and wishes. I had hope to get massages just after arriving the first day and the spa manager brought in two additional therapists to honor my request. The bar tender was friendly and made excellent night caps after a long day. We had an upgrade from a King pool room to the weatherly suite. The suite is ridiculously large for two people and it is strange to have a huge television in front of an uncomfortable sofa in the sparse living room. The bed was super cozy and we spent our whole time relaxing in the bedroom so we probably would have been better off in the King Room. The pools looked lovely but it was very cold the two nights we were there and we spent our time hiking, dining, etc. The proximity to the main "drag" of restaurants etc is great if you like being able to walk. I have to agree with other reviewers that the overall feeling of "lipstick" renovation on an older motel property is hard to shake. Things like old tubs and uncomfortable furnishings feel cheap. The oversized toiletries, great bedding, amazing shower head help make up for the things that need upgrading. We had a great off season rate so it was easy to brush aside but if I was paying top dollar, I think I would have been a little disappointed.

Room Tip: Skip the weatherly suite if you are a couple.

We booked this hotel online after browsing through "tablet hotels".
Everything in this hotel was according or higher than our expectations.
The rooms were spacious and had a really nice design (black, white and yellow). The only downside was the very small bathtub and the loud and old airconditioning.
With its 3 small pool areas and bungolw style houses this small resorts invites you to get lost in your thoughts.
Service was great as well. We got super tipps for our trip to Yoshua Tree park, which helped us a lot do find our way around!
Included in our booking was a free 30 min spa experience and I had the best massage I have ever had in my life!

Other goodies: free parking and free coffee in the morning in the restaurant!

We just spent 4 nights at the wonderful Viceroy Hotel in Palm Springs CA and we could not recommend this place enough. From the minute you arrive and are greeted by the enthusiastically friendly mgr Don at the desk to the retro dressing terrific Roxy you feel right at home, perhaps much like the famous film stars of the past & present feel at The Viceroy. Service wise it is a retro trip to a time when the answer to everything was “yes!”

The grounds are cozy, charming and outright beautiful. The rest of the staff like Melissa in the world class spa could not be more perfect. For a luxury treat that makes you feel like are on the big wide Technicolor screen yourself, we highly suggest The Viceroy.

Probably super nice when the weather isn't awful. The living room areas in the suites are nice but the bathrooms are too small for a suite (at least compared to the many hotels I've been to). I don't understand how a hotel that with a highly rated spa doesn't have any staff members during the spas hours of operation who can actually perform the services that the spa offers. I've never been to a hotel that has a spa and offers massages, but doesn't have even one person on site if a guest decides to get a massage. I find that very strange and was extremely surprised when the spa is supposed to be renowned. We were not expecting rain but its been raining all day and want to get a massage when we can't do anything outdoors, but that's not possible. Other than that ridiculous thing, the staff is nice and the best part was how nice the guy at the valet was cause he was awesome and helpful especially when no one else could be. The food is good at least and our indoor stay has been good mostly cause we can order room service but the old school parts aren't too convenient. It has a lot of potential it really does but its not reached what it could be

The Viceroy Palm Springs provided the perfect location for an amazing client golf outing.

Heading into the stay I was confident that the hotel would provide a great experience but based on the age of the property and value i received did not expect to be wowed as much as I was.

The entrance to the property gives you an amazing feeling of being whisked out of the desert and into an oasis. The five acre grounds were perfectly manicured and had amazing smells that completed the appeal to the senses of the property; a complete experience.

The vintage rooms are certainly not huge but are well appointed and architecturally appealing.

The pools, cabana's and sitting areas are well placed and comfortable. Ideally suited both to leisure and business.

I did not get a chance to take advantage of the spa but did dine for both breakfast and dinner.

While I chose quicker bar style fare the food was excellent and I wish I had a chance to try their full dining menu.

Going into this program I did not know a ton about the Palm Springs market but after visiting other properties in the area I am confident we made a great choice.

Just spent the last four days at Palm Spring's finest resort, The Viceroy. Rooms are great, grounds are impecible, ammenities unparalleled. Book a one or two room villa complete with full kitchen, patio and above all, privacy!

Be sure to see Don Divine while you are there. Don goes above and beyond the call to ensure every guest is completely delighted with their stay. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If you're an early-to-bed type, request a room on the backside of the hotel.

This gem of a hotel is only steps away from the main shopping/dining street in Palm Springs, so you don't need a car if you stay here. The free bikes are a great perk. Like most hotels here, this is an older property but it has had an extensive makeover. The decor is a bit Beverly Hills posh, lots of mirrors and white marble. You'll definitely feel like you're on vacation, maybe even like a movie mogul. Little details like adding a magnifying mirror in the bathroom would be helpful. This is little stuff. The staff could not be more courteous and sincere. I've stayed in many, many hotels in Palm Springs. This one offers classy comfort and genuine service at a reasonable rate. I'm coming back with friends and family.
