We had problems with this property from the second we pulled into valet. The reservation was incorrect (and apparently, my problem to deal with). We were locked out of our room for 2+ hours one morning and were never informed of the status of the problem, recognition from any staff of any kind regarding our circumstance, and absolutely no apology or empathy for the inconvienence. The pool areas were trashed at all times - even at 7 a.m. when the pool staff was supposed to be cleaning up. Note for people with children: be ware! We watched numerous employees walk around piles of broken glass and pool debris. It wasn't until late in the afternoon that anyone bothered to pick it up. We had countless issues with staff at the bars and dining room. Atitude and aloofness abound. When we tried to eat dinner at 8:45 on a Thursday they wouldn't seat us because we didn't have a reservation and they decided they were done serving for the evening. My favorite part of this story is the completely EMPTY restaurant at the time. This fiasco led to one of our friends missing their midnight flight. And, again, barely an acknowledgment from NO ONE. I don't care what amazing deal you find, spend your money elsewhere. These people do not deserve another cent.

This resort is so very different and retro on all fronts, rooms, exterior walkways and common areas, and lounge and common area. Upscale Retro...

But, each building is a bit different from the other and there are at least 4 buildings. We we in building 4 and the room was a very nice retro appearance. But, getting there was musty smelling and reminiscent of a dingy, dank, old cheap hotel (and this one is not cheap).

Room was good in all aspects other than plumbing. Sink drained VERY slowly...and bathtub did NOT drain at all.

To get from Building 4 to the main lobby, bar, or lounge, one has to walk through connecting walkways and through each building. Based on this, we would indeed return, but NEVER to stay in building 4.

Staff very pleasant and accommodating...

Note: Mattress a bit too soft for our liking, but many would love it...

Gotta start with when checked via Priceline, room was horrible!!! Asked if we could move. My husband just had brain surgery so you can imagine how important this trip was (let alone our 30th wedding anniversary). Timothy was like a knight in shining armor! He upgraded us and finally we had a room worth the cost. Poolside was interesting. Gotta save a seat by 8am on a Saturday!!!! All good and dealing with bad sound system and groups taking over the pool bur we waited over an hr for the lunch we ordered!!!! The folks next to us got their lunch first! We still tipped our severer his 20% but come on. Get more help!!

We used Priceline for our last minute trip to Palm Springs. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the Rivieira. The decor was stunning, the staff was friendly, and the check in process was seamless. We were able to check in early and enjoy lunch at Circa which was yummy! The hotel room decor was very modern and chic. Both pool areas were very tropical and the wait staff was very attentive. At night, there were several fire pits lit up for us to enjoy. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Can't wait to go back!

I have been here several times and have enjoyed the beautiful grounds. However the last time, it was so neglected, I might not return. It was a quiet Sunday evening after a busy weekend. But still no excuse for the condition of the property. Beer bottles and trash thought out the lobby. No management or cleaning staff in site. Lobby bar was closed. No one by the front entrance to the hotel. Only two desk clerks talking about 50 feet way. Both valets were far away from the entrance, just chatting. No one even saw us walk in. Restaurant host greeted us and was nice. We walked the pool grounds. Towels and trash everywhere. I could even smell vomit at a seating area near the pool. We walked out 20 min later. All the trash was still in sight, but no staff. The Riviera had a wonderful renovation done a few years ago, but management sees no reason to keep the place polished. Always understaffed. It really is a shame. Clean it up and I might return.

Room Tip: Average rooms. You have to pay the big bucks to be near the pool or pool view. There are many better options in Palm Springs
