My partner and I were guests of a friend couple who booked our stay through their time-share organization. Other reviewers have described the property well, though we had no problems (nor heard of any) with vehicle break-ins. In addition:
- We fed ourselves happily 2-3 times a day from the very well-equipped kitchen, which included electric range & oven, microwave, coffee maker, big refrigerator, double sink, dishwasher (yes!), and plenty of tools and pots. (Our host brought a sharp 8-inch chef's knife, clever man.)
- The citrus growing on the property was deliciously in season, including beautiful white grapefruit.
- Ralph's grocery and a fine little bakery are 2 blocks away--a pleasant walk or short drive.
- Very convenient by car both to downtown PS and the airport
- Firm, comfy beds
- Good insulation from weather and noise
- Pleasant staff were no help with defective TV in master bedroom.
- Nice sound system for CDs and the great local classical music station, KUSC
- Lovely view of mountains from living room through clerestory windows of our 2nd-floor unit

My husband, 17 year old son, and I stayed at the Vista Mirage from Oct. 7th to the12th. We really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Palm Springs.

We had a 2 bedroom condo at poolside. It was clean and well appointed and nice and quiet! Maybe a little too quiet for my son but perfect for my husband and me.

There is a full kitchen which was great for keeping snacks and cereal and cold drinks. We never cooked but certainly could have. The kitchen has everything you need and all of the dishes and utensils and pots and pans. There is a coffee maker as well. There are also 3 gas grills by the pool for cooking steaks or burgers.

There are 2 pools with plenty of chairs and surrounded by lemon, lime and grapefruit trees. There were so many fruits on the trees that I was surprised the limbs weren't hanging to the ground! Beautiful! There is also a hot tub beside the pool which was very nice at night.

The staff was very polite and friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

There is an exercise room with free weights (up to 20 lb. dumb bells) and a treadmill, recumbant bike and stair stepper. It needs a little updating but was better than nothing. An elyptical machine would be a nice addition.

They also have a place to shoot basketball, tennis courts and board games to loan out, which was great.

There were 2 tv's in the condo and a dvd player.

Make sure you take the tram ride up the San Jacinto mountains. It is the second steepest tram in the world and was alot of fun. Make sure you take a jacket or coat as it's about 30 degrees cooler at the top! There is a sncakbar and bar and restaurant at the top. There is a paved hiking trail. In the winter months there is snow shoeing and cross country skiing.

The Vista Mirage was the perfect relaxing getaway. Great place!

Our family of 4 stayed at this complex for a week in April and enjoyed it. They had 2 pools which were perfect with lots of chairs. A few more umbrellas would have been nice. I did figure out by the 2nd day to get to the pool early and stake out a few chairs as it filled up quickly. The room was a very large 2 bedroom which was stocked adequately. There was no view, but the upper level room had a small outside patio where we could store bikes, etc. The door to the patio did not have a lock. Our biggest disappointment was with the security of the parking lot. Though it is a gated parking lot there were one to two cars broken into each night. The cars parked in the small garages seemed to be targeted the most. And, the office staff did not inform us of this, my husband was told by the security guard he got to chatting with. We parked every night on the street and had no problem. But, I would not leave ANYTHING in the car.

Vista Mirage is a nice resort with clean, neat rooms, a tennis court, swimming pool and continental breakfast. Rooms are nicely appointed. However, the gated, key-accessible parking lot has been broken into dozens of times and the management has done nothing to make the lot more secure. Our locked and alarmed car was broken into twice despite the fact that there was nothing in the passenger compartment and many items of value were taken from the trunk. We spoke to several others whose cars were also broken into two different times. The police told me they have come to the resort numerous times and that the resort needs to provide more security and safety.

We stayed a week at Vista Mirage and were surprised at how nice the condo is. It is a spacious 2 bedroom with a full and well equiped kitchen. The master bedroom had a very comfortable king bed. I would recommnd the ground floor because of the two private patios, one at the entrance and one off the master BR and the living room. As others have mentioned, there is no view. We entertained 8 for dinner and had plenty of room in the dining area. The grounds were very well kept and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not use the pool or spa but other guests were there daily. We also liked the parking area with small covered garages, our van fit nicely. The grounds are gated and we felt very secure. I would stay there again.
