We took this tour in July with our family of 2 adults and 3 children (7,9,11) from Rancho Mirage. The tour left early in the morning as it is quite warm in the Desert during July. Our guide was great, he kept us well informed all morning of our surroundings and the history of the area. It was a fun adventure for us all to ride in the hummer and experience the desert in safe hands. We were even given snacks and plenty of water which we certainly appreciated.

I did the morning tour and it was already 85F by 7am. It was suppose to reach 115F and there was no shade cloth on the open hummer. I recommend that you take a hat and some sunscreen. The driver was on time, knowledgable and friendly. Water was provided on the tour. We visited the Palm Oasis and Joshua Tree.
Overall interesting but not worth the money charged.

when you make your reservations they are very clear that if you need to cancel you need to do it at least 48-72 hrs in advance.my reservations was made for the sunset tour(3:30pm) on saturday Aug 4th 2012.
Bill called me on saturday Aug 4th the day of my tour around 1:30 pm to let me know that the tour has been cancel............ really 2 hrs before!!!! i was already in Palm Springs and that was one of the ONLY reasons for us to go to Palm Springs.
But yet my credit card was charged for the tour the day of the reservation.I will up date to see how long they'll take to refund my credit card.

It was 115 degrees that day in the desert, all guests besides this hardy customer did not want to go that day and provided a cancellation. This guest was offered a 50% discount on a private air conditioned tour and even a free ticket for another date. Yet, the refused the offer.

Just as is the case with other Jeep or the other Hummer company in town, we require at least 4 persons on our tours for our lowest published rate. Hopefully this guest will take us up on our offer for a discounted tour or settle for a private tour in our new H2 air conditioned tour.

Cheers

We came down to Palm Springs for 5 days and wanted to see the Joshua Tree. We booked the evening sunset tour to Joshua Tree. We had a party of 7 and were able to all travel together. Rob picked us up from the given pickup and was on-time. We first stopped at 1000 Palms Oasisfor a desert introduction andmthen traveled in to Joshua Tree National Park up an old goldtrail road. traelling the off road route was a lot of fun. While we travelled to Joshua Tree, Rob was extremely knowledgeable of the areas history and natural features and provided an amazing commentary the entire way up. It was so informative, interesting and had moments of timely humor. Free water and snacks (watermelon, granola and fruit snacks), and Rob provided cold towels to keep us cool. A desert tortoise was spotted along with numerous lizards. I highly recommend this to everyone! Thanks Rob for a great Desert Adventure!

We took the trip 2 days after some rain, after the first stop we were off road, the road had been washed away but Louis our driver was excellent. It was great to get away and see the real landscape. It's a four hour trip with one stop and then a drive up to the Joshua Tree park, we had the sunset tour. The only small gripe I had was it would have been nice to get out and walk a bit longer, we have done one of these before in Scottsdale where we walked for about an hour to see the animals and plants.
We did get about 15-20 minutes at the top, our children really enjoyed it. If you fancy time away from the pool / golf course then book this.
