The Desert Riviera is a great place to relax and unwind. The staff are welcoming and call you by name. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Every other guest that we met was a repeat visitor. This was our first trip to Palm Springs and we'll definitely stay at the Desert Riviera when we return. The location is fantastic (an easy drive from the airport, to the downtown area, the outlet mall, and El Paseo, aka the Rodeo Drive of the Desert and if you don't want to drive there are a number of restaurants within walking distance.) Read the previous reviews for more detail (they are all true!). The Desert Riviera does not disappoint!

I hate to say too much because even more people will want to come and I won't be able to get a room. Notwithstanding, this is a funky little 1950's motel (11 rooms) that has been completely and tastefully remodeled. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the price is reasonable. Best of all, they don't nickel and dime you for all the amenities and there are many (wifi, shuttle, bicycles, etc). Other hotels/motels might want to take notes.

Had a solo stay mid week recently. The place was clean and the employees were nice. The hedges wrap around the pool and keep things pretty quiet and private. I was surprised the hot tub wasn't very hot. The hotel has some nice amenities, beverages, movies, and fresh fruit. They are returning a phone charger I left behind so kudos for that... I wish they would have been more understanding as I had a crisis at home and had to cut my stay a day short. The fact that they didn't offer a future nights credit or refund of some amount seperates them from a true first class/5 star environment. Ultimately, nice enough but not at the top of my list for my next trip.

From the greeting at the gate when we arrived after 9 pm...to the 93 degree heated pool in the dead of a really cold week and the ever burning conversation pit next to the spa....to making sure we had all we needed......including snacks and drinks.........this was one of the warmest places I have ever stayed.
The grounds are lovely the rooms are very nice........
A great place to stay if you are in Palm Springs.

We are still buzzing about our vacation at this great little place! Everything was exactly as we had hoped, but better. From the moment of our arrival on Boxing Day, to New Year's Eve, to our departure on January 5, Patti, Larry and the staff made our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. We loved the gardens and pool by day, the BBQ in the late afternoon, and the firepit under the moon and stars. Patti and Larry had great recommendations for things to do and see. Their restaurant recommendations were terrific. A toast to our hosts and their great staff. Life can't get any better than a stay at the Desert Riviera! Diane and Roy

Loved our stay in this hotel - frozen in a 1950's design time warp (as is most of Palm Springs). Peaceful, quiet, beautiful views of the mountains as you sit by the heated pool and/or jacuzzi, friendly, helpful hotel staff/owners, daily newspaper, morning coffee and fresh fruit available daily (no charge), bikes, golf clubs all available for use (at no charge). Our unit, #6 had a well equipped kitchenette. Highest praise reserved for the bed - unbelievably comfortable. Lit candles every evening on all the tables around the pool creating a magical effect. Restaurants nearby or walk about 25 min. into downtown Palm Springs with more shops and restaurants. Exceedingly clean, comfortable and pleasant - would definitely return again.

Room Tip: Small hotel, all rooms seem to be prettily located around the pool

Miuntain views; warm pool; Jacuzzi;hummingbirds;what more do you want? Also free: basket of treats; limo service; bicycles sunscreen and DVDs. Old world charm but simple and unpretentious, friendly and genuine with mid-century modern flair.
