Returning to Palm Springs after a 10-year absence, we returned to Copley's which was our favorite 10-years ago. Even though they were very busy, we were seated at our table immediately. Copley's offers inside dining in a lovely restored home with french doors opening onto the very inviting outside dining space. The outside space is very spacious with lawns, trees and seating spaces to enjoy cocktails and dinner. Our server, Paul M. was excellent—professional and friendly and catered to our every need. I had a filet mignon that was grilled to perfection. My husband had Veal Medallions that, in his words, were "out of this world." This is a restaurant that seems to have it all. After a week in Palm Springs, Copley's stands out as exceptional. We found the prices very fair for the quality of food and service we received.

Simple stuff is clearly VERY difficult for the folks at Copleys. Pre-dinner drink? 15 minutes. Ask for a Pilsner style beer? "We're not really a 'beer' kind of place" they say, suggesting in no uncertain terms that ordering a beer for your first drink is 'unwelcome' (cheap??) ... (despite having half a dozen on the list). Unacceptable.

When we chose to leave and go elsewhere, the owner and manager Greg Butterfield said that he was glad we were leaving as we were 'unreasonable'. When I apprised him of the full details of his staff's actions, he stepped back and asked us to stay - but the fact that he chose to further abuse his guests on the word of his staff as a default action, says a lot about his poor management skills and the free reign his very very poor staff have.

My advice? Stay away. Far Far FAR away.

Popped in one night without reservations, and was graciously received. Seated inside at a window. Alex our waiter was prompt, friendly, professional, knowledgeable and of course, attractive. Recommended the strip steak, fabulous! Our meal was excellent from the appts to dessert. On our departure, the manager made sure to ask how was our dining experience and thanking us for stopping in. They all made us feel very welcome. We have dined here years ago and loved it then. It is always on our list when we visit Palm Springs.

It was a special anniversary, they congratulated us at our table with Happy Birthday. Tenderloins overdone and tuff. Wrecked an important occasion.

We had a very nice dinner with great service and very good food in lovely surroundings. This restaurant is well rated and our party of four would support the great reviews it gets. One to book
