Look no further! The Old Ranch is THE perfect place to stay in Palm Springs! Ed and Larry are the perfect hosts, who make you welcome, encourage you to explore, fill you in on the places to visit and give you the inside information how to get the most out of your stay. We recently enjoyed several days of Old Ranch hospitality, where nothing was too much trouble! Thanks to both of you and Teresa - we had a truly memorable time!!

I and my wife and 2 daughters spent a week here from London after a hectic LA trip. Ed and Larry are both attentive hosts, and run a small, jewel of a hotel sandwiched between the mountain and the centre of town. Great restaurants and some shopping in walking distance (who walks in 100 degrees except us english people !)

Te style is elegant and laid back, the pool is warm, and the place is both beautiful and beautifully maintained. It fully deserves its recent award. We will be back when we next need the desert.

Recommended for relaxing, romantic getaways or really any reason that takes you to Palm Springs.

Believe everything good that you read about this place - it is all true! The rooms are beautiful (we had room 5 out of the eight available, four steps away from the pool) and it is the little details in the rooms that make this place A*. Ed and Larry are exactly as described - friendly and helpful as soon as you book in. And not to forget Teresa who keeps the rooms spick and span and even did a bit of laundry for us!! This place is an oasis and we were fortunate to be there for 4 nights including a Thursday when the weekly street market was being held - only a couple of hundred yards away - but you wouldn't know it. Sit in the shade in the morning (tea/coffee/fruit provided), watch the humming birds, listen to the fountains around the pool and relax. After exploring in and around Palm Springs it was great to come back in the afternoon and get into the pool and chat to the other guests. We would love to go back again - maybe when it is not 108 degrees! All other places that we ever stay in will always be compared to the standards, service and friendliness of the Old Ranch Inn. Thanks again Ed and Larry - long may you welcome guests.

We stayed for a long weekend and had the Suite #1, which had a King bed, fireplace (which isn't used in the summer), kitchenette, and private patio that leads to the pool. The only thing 'wrong' was that since our suite was the first one as you enter the property doors, we were startled by the slamming front doors at night. Although it didn't slam often, when it does, it shakes the whole room. Otherwise, it is very quiet. No screaming kids, barking dogs, or noisy inconsiderate guests.

Very clean and spacious. The decor is a bit like what you might expect at Grandma's with floral knick knacks. If you're looking for slick contemporary or mid-century decor, you will not find it here.

It's an inn, so there is no breakfast - only tea & coffee, but you can easily go the few blocks to downtown and there is a Starbuck's. If you drive, there are several restaurants open for breakfast as well.

The owners are very professional, helpful and friendly. I'm sure if there is ever a problem, they'd take care of it immediately. They make you feel more like their house guests than just guests at an inn.

We stayed at Old Ranch Inn for 1 week and loved everything about it. Ed and Larry were brilliant hosts - friendly and helpful without being intrusive. They showed huge enthusiasm for our enjoyment which made us feel valued and helped the relaxation process. The room was spacious and well equipped. It was kept spotlessly clean, thanks to Theresa. The pool/courtyard area provided tranquility and privacy yet the location of Old Ranch Inn is only a few minutes walk from the centre of town.

Prior to visiting Palm Springs we priced other accommodation that was substantially more expensive than Old Ranch Inn. You could easily pay a lot more and receive substantially less. Final mention goes to the stunning hummingbirds which inhabit the courtyard area - being able to observe their grace and beauty close up almost made the trip worthwhile on it's own. Highly recommended.

My financee and I decided to go to Palm Springs to celebrate three years together and were delighted, this place is above and beyond all our expectations! We arrived quite a bit earlier than we expected to and they were wonderful about letting us check in early and get right to enjoying our weekend away. The room is just beautiful (we had a Queen suite which is plenty large, it even has a kitchenette!) The pool (which was steps away) and surrounding garden are beautiful and peaceful, you can bird watch from the pool (I saw several hummingbirds). Larry and Ed are a gem: charming and friendly. Almost immedeately after arriving I called my twin to let her know she HAD to stay here. It is convienent to get to, immaculate, wonderful rooms, and fantastic service. I just cannot say enough about my pleasure at this wonderful gem.

Ed and Larry do a great job of making you feel instantly at home. Especially if you've gotten there after a long drive through the LA basin and desert on a hot day. The inner courtyard and pool area is a lovely world to itself with its plants and birds and water fountain. All steps from every room. A quiet intimate oasis. Downtown is a couple blocks away and offers good restaurants and bars. Ed and Larry are very knowledgeable and helpful with local info and advice. Just the right balance of available without intruding if you want your privacy unlike some "B&B's" where you feel you almost have to be "on" for the management. If you want luxo super hotel this is not for you. If you want a first class home away from home this is it.
