My parents and husband and I stayed here for two nights before travelling on to San Diego- I actually picked it based on the previous reviews and the photos, it looked so quaint and pretty I knew it'd be right up my street.
I wasn't wrong. Due to delays in our journey from Las Vegas, we kept in constant contact with Larry who helped us with directions and kindly stayed past the usual 5:00pm office closing time to welcome us when we got there. He went above and beyond in recommending restaurants and bars and supplying us with maps for the local area, along with a list of celebrity homes that were nearby which I found fascinating.
We stayed in room 5 which was absolutely gorgeous. Every little touch has been carefully considered- the matching soft furnishings, the basket filled with towels to use by the pool, bottled water, crockery and utensils for guest use in the kitchen area, and magazines. The bathroom was equally as gorgeous, and also had a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. If you need an iron whilst you're there, these are readily available from reception.
The pool area was perfect, plenty of sun loungers, a gorgeous fire pit and an area that come the morning was laden with complimentary fruit, water, teas and coffees. A really lovely touch. We met Ed whilst we were enjoying these on our first morning and he was equally as lovely and helpful as Larry, giving us tips on where my dad could find some good second hand record shops (his thing).
It is only a short walk into the centre of Palm Springs which is lined with fab boutiques, bars and restaurants. We went to Lulu on Larry's recommendation and were not disappointed- happy hour martinis for $4.95 and a wide selection of entrees at half price! Too good to miss.
Our stay at Old Ranch Inn was perfect but too short, I could have happily had a few more nights at this peaceful and beautiful little place.
If you're thinking of booking it, stop thinking and just do it! You won't be disappointed.

What a lovely place to holiday.Ed and Larry are so warm and friendly. This place is a great location ,just a short walk to the strip.Rooms are very clean and comfortable.Fresh fruit and coffee by the pool in the morning. There are only 8 rooms here so it is sort of intimate. You get to know the other guests who come from all over the world .Quite amazing that they find this Inn . I travelled alone but never felt unsafe .I would definetly stay here again !!

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room here .

Very quiet and comfortable, walking distance from downtown, huge bed, large room, nice pool area w/plants, birds, fountains, floats; wonderful owners, recommendations on restaurants, bars, etc., exactly what we were hoping for : )

We stayed here on our first stop of our honeymoon for two nights and didn't want to leave. The rooms were really nice, we had one just off the pool and it was amazing, great value for money! The owners are so friendly and gave good recommendations for food. Location is great just a short walk of the main strip. The maid even gave us some ice cold water when we sunbathed by the pool, nice touch. Would definitely return.

We stayed in room 8, a large beautiful room with a kitchen attached. The place is a positive haven built around a (very warm) pool. Humming birds fly around and the planting is lovely. We also had our own private patio. Ed and Larry make perfect hosts and will give you print-outs of their recommended restaurants and answer any questions you may have. There is also a large dvd library to use and lots of books to read. Our bathroom had a hand-painted sink, but all the decor is full of tasteful and quirky touches. We had a soothing late night swim. If you go to Palm Springs we can highly recommend this oasis of calm and just plain niceness. Exra touches are fresh fruit and coffee served by the pool in the morning and cold bottles of water given out in the afternoon. The ranch is within a short walk to restaurants and bars so you don't have to worry about drinking and driving.

Room Tip: Go for room 8
