We stayed at this hotel for our anniversary in July. We received a great deal from groupon and then decided to upgrade our room to the honeymoon suite. I believe the upgrade is typically about $40/day but we got it a little cheaper because it was after the 4th of July when less people are visiting. The hotel is fairly small and we saw a handful of other couples when we were out by the pool. It is HOT in Palm Springs so plan to do something during the day to stay cool. On our first day they forgot we had upgraded our room so when they knocked on our door we had to show proof we paid for the room. We had plans to do multiple activities during our stay. We stayed in room 225 which is the honeymoon suite in the corner on the street side. There was a lot of construction going on but we were mainly out and about during the day so it didn't bother us too much. We did not like that the toilet was facing the shower and that there was no privacy when using the the toilet but, we really liked the layout of the room and thought it was very nice and comfy. Also, we did have a problem with the sink handle not turning but they fixed it right away (I believe his name was Bob, he is very friendly and helpful). This hotel is an older hotel that has been refurbished very nicely. It is sitting in a prime location in downtown Palm Springs which means it is walking distance to a lot of places to eat and shop. Everything was going good until the tree in front of our room had the branches fall and damaged a car parked on the street. This woke us up and a lot of commotion was outside our window. However, they had this mess cleaned up by the next day for the VillageFest. We were able to stand outside and see the vendors and people walking by but decided to join and walk down Palm Canyon Drive. During our last night there we decided to take a dip in the pool and spa and although the spa had a strong chlorine smell when we turned on the jets, the pool was nice and warm. On the day we left I asked for a few extra minutes to check out (I do this to see how accommodating the hotel is) and at first they told me no but later said it was ok to take an extra 15 minutes. All in all we enjoyed our stay at this hotel although we encountered a few issues.
Tips:
The entrance to this hotel is not on Palm Canyon Drive, you must go around through Andreas Rd to Indian Canyon Dr.
Be aware that there is a daily city bed tax which came out to about $50 for three days.
They may give you a plastic cup of champagne after you check in. However, cups and water are located near the pool.
There is lots of construction going on across the street so do not stay on the street side if noise bothers you and you plan to stay in during the day.
There is no door to get to the toilet, only to the bathroom area which is still open because of the tub so bring a small air freshener.
They give you a daily coupon for a drink and chips but you need to go to the front desk every day to request it.
