This is a wonderful place to hike, even in heat! The Palm Canyon - Victor trail loop is less than three miles and is less than moderate, with no oppressive elevations. The trading post has remarkable goods for sale from native-American communities all over the west. The Andreas Trail begins at a sacred rock, on which we had the good fortune to see an eagle.
The hike was between easy and moderate, with modest water crossings. These Canyons are a favorite place .

We did a short walk in Indian Canyons in August 2013. We walked to Palm Canyon on a well signed path. We arrived at 8am as we had been advised and left at 10am as by this time it was really hot (104F) and the part of the path we had reached had no shade. If you are visiting mid summer, take plenty of water and be aware that a lot of the canyons have little shade. Still well worth a visit.

We took a day trip out to Palm Springs during our time in LA and I'm so glad we did. It was a beautiful day when we headed out there, and headed straight to the Indian Canyons. Absolutely beautiful. In one of the canyons we saw hummingbirds for the first time ever. Luckily we didn't see any snakes! The whole area is straight out of the book of perfection. Just so stunning with the creeks, the boulders and rocks and the palm trees. Highly recommended.

My husband and I always stop by the Canyon on your yearly visit to Palm Desert. The Canyons are beautiful. I would certainly recommend you review the safety aspects of hiking in the desert. If you stay on the paths there is a lot to see. The area has picnic tables where you can enjoy a meal.

The hummingbirds that are abundant around the Ranger area are fun to watch.

This is a place you cannot miss.

Take the time to go here! You won't regret it! It is so beautiful and if you only have a short time to spend there, you can still see a lot!
