We stayed in a one bedroom villa during spring break from 04/04/10 to 04/11/10. Check in was quick and easy and were offered a pool view or mountain view. We chose the mountain view on the 3rd floor. Room was spacious and clean. We requested extra towels and sheets which were brought in a timely manner. After the first night we realized the sheet on the mattress was not fitted. It was a regular sheet just tucked in. It came off during the night. We requested a fitted sheet several times but never received one. The trash can liners were very weak. They tore very easily. The pool was great but get there early (8:00am) if you want a good spot. The area of the pool where the water slides are go very quickly and people like to hoard the umbrellas. We have four kids ages 10,7,5,and 2 and they all loved this resort. The resort had activities almost everyday for the kids such as indoor soccer and dodge ball. Food prices were reasonable with some healthy choices and the pizza was pretty darn good. We will definitely be returning to this resort.

Traded a Marriott Vacation Club week for this. Let me tell you, there is no comparison. Rooms are dated and lower-end, but ours was clean. Appliances are very basic and very loud. Kitchen is more like a kitchenette. But the worst part was the people. There appeared to be a weekend-special going on the week we were there. Lots of tattoos, yelling and swearing. If you are a big smoker and drinker, you will love this place! We couldn't even sit on our balcony and enjoy the view without being assaulted by the constant smoking from all the other balconies around us. We had to close the windows to keep it out of our rooms. On the updside, the pool is nice for the kids, and the view of the mountains was very pleasant.

If you are used to a higher-end timeshare, you will be disappointed.

For being a timeshare resort- they should make an extra effort to improve the resort.
The rooms are dated. The front desk service was half way decent. They give us a black towel card and explain it is to be used for pool towels and returned when checking out. If it is not returned they will charge you a $10 per card. First of all...who would want your faded blue towels? seems petty. we requested a late check out- we were told we could stay until 11 ? mighty generous when most 5 star resorts allow guests to stay until 1 or even 2pm. We have traveled abroad for many years and didn't find Palm Canyon Resort to be hospitable at all. sad... do your self a favor chose another resort...and certainly don't waste your time considering a time share purchase with them.

A friend and myself decided to meet up in P.S. I read the reviews and found that the reason the reviews prior to Dec. of last year were poor were because it was prior to its renovation. We had a one bedroom that was clean, spacious, fully equipped, comfortable and quiet. The furniture looked new and we took turns sleeping on the pullout couch and bed which wasn't bad at all. The pool area and slides had been redone and were spotless. The gym was well equipped and spotless. The restaurant/bar served average food at wonderfully inexpensive prices. Individual cheese pizza $3.99. Drinks $6. Menu changed. Pulled pork $6.99. What a deal! It's a couple miles out of town so quiet at night but just a short drive to downtown and gosh, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. I'm not a timeshare owner, don't care for timeshares, and wasn't approached to buy a timeshare. They had organized games for the kids and even rootbeer floats! Lifeguards to watch the slide area and a very relaxing time. Don't hesitate staying here.

I had read on here some really bad reviews, so that is why i decided to post one on here because i almost cancelled just because of the bad stuff i read. But is obvious that they have been doing some interior remodeling in the resort, we stayed in sunset wing and our room was clean, no signs of insects anywhere, the 2 bedroom villa was a great size for us two couples. The pool was very nice for hanging out at, the bartenders were great and took good care of us. Everyone we dealt with offered excellent service! was fun to have a basketball half court for a game of HORSE... all in all it was a fun little getaway at an unbeatable price!!
