“This is good food!”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

The Las Casuelas in the center of downtown is an entertainment yuppie land! Good drinks and entertainment. BUT if you want GOOD mexican food, there is only one choice and that is the ORIGINAL HANDS DOWN! The Burritos and sauces are superb, the chips and sausa are fresh and the sausa is spicy but NOT overpowering. It is comftable and a quiet place to enjoy a good meal! The meals are very good portions and the service is friendly and comftable with the guests! This is a "can't go wrong" place supported by the locals! I have been going here for over 10 years!

“Still a great option”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

I hadn't been to Las Casuelas in over a decade, and recently returned several times during the past year. It still has lots of charm and energy, and the location is great, right in the heart of Palm Springs on Palm Canyon. The food and service are great, and the margaritas are killer!

“Just ok”
Reviewed October 9, 2012 via mobile

We had a yearning for Mexican, so gave this place a shot. it was just ok.
The food was nondescript. The service was pretty quick and attentive and the margarita wasn't too bad. Too bad the food didn't just fill a hole. No zip.

“Normal service to be resumed we hope.....”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

Love this restaurant, been visiting for the last 3 years whilst staying in Palm Springs. Sunday was great, sat at the bar enjoying the festivities for the Mexican Independence day, dancers were excellent, as were the bar men. Went back later for a meal, it was very quiet, no queues, shown to a table straight away. We were given the booth just inside the door, only downside its opposite the ladies loo, and everyone coming in and out stared at you. Besides that food was excellent, service was excellent, given time to enjoy and our time to finish our bottle of wine. Went back Wednesday night, again no queues and again the same table....I should have asked to be moved but thought ok it is busier there is a convention in town and you could hear the banter from the main restaurant and outside bar. We were met by a waitress who straight away apologised as our server was on a break and she would look after us for the first 30 minutes. So why were we sat at that table? We asked for a wine list, she decided to tell us about the house wine, we again asked for the wine list, she left but a little unhappy. We were then served our food, I think everyone from the toilet cleaner to the manager came past and asked us was everything ok!!!! before I had finished my meal, my husbands empty plate was taken away, good job it was empty, but he might have wanted to help me but had little chance. Don't get me wrong but we felt hurried, we still had half a bottle of wine to drink, as we didn't want a dessert, we were given the bill and checked a few times to see if we had settled it, again with wine still in the bottle. As I started out we have always eaten here when in PS, along with other restaurants in town, and hope this was just a blip, I know next time I will insist on a different table, but we didn't want to offend, maybe because we are British we don't complain enough, but next time we will ask to sit with other people and not opposite the loos. Yes there will be a next time as you can't fault the food, just this last time the service was a bit off.

“ORIGINAL IS YUMM”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Not to be confused with the other (also delicious) Las Casuelas family restaurants in town...this is the original and the old school decore reminds you of the 50+ years they've been in this location. Friendly staff. Small. The guacamole especial is always my favorite starter and an original recipe that resembles nachos dripping with ranchero sauce. Some of their new items are a nice change from the old standard-ceviche or even the stuffed peppers. Good job guys!!
