this is a deli. i mean a real jewish deli. this is my father's deli; the kind i was sure did not exist anymore except in NY and LA. i was so excited to find Sherman's, i wanted to order almost everything on the menu. i started with their famous potato latkes: i ate one with sour cream and applesauce; it was so good, but i put two in a take out box for tomorrow. then i had a hot pastrami sandwich on grilled rye with swiss cheese and russian dressing and cole slaw which was the best ever. and then steve let me taste his hot brisket sandwich on latkes instead of bread --- OMG, there are no words to describe how good that was. i was so full i couldn't even look at the amazing desserts, but steve managed to eat a piece of boston cream pie and said it was delicious.
