Description: Al dente Trattoria Toscana - A quaint cucina with a decidedly European atmosphere, has served Palm Springs and an international clientele for over 20 years A cozy patio with twinkling lights is great for people-watching. Everything is homemade with the freshest of ingredients beginning with flavorful antipasti, salads and a variety of soups. Your pasta course features an incredible array of sauces with a Tuscan flair, such as a simple Aglio e Olio - fresh garlic and olive oil - to the succulent Frutti di Mare - calamari, shrimp, clams and mussels in tomato sauce, or Quatro Formaggio, a four-cheese sauce to die for! Entrées are carefully prepared and beautifully presented with nightly specials to augment menu items, such as Pollo Funghi - chicken breast sautéed with fresh mushrooms, Bistecca di Manzo - grilled steak, or Gamberone Griglia - jumbo shrimp on grill.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Probably our least favourite dining experience in Palm Springs. Nothing particularly wrong with it but there again, nothing particularly good about it either.

Service was efficient enough but lacking in any personality. Food was average at best and there really wasn't much atmosphere in the restaurant despite it being fairly full.

For main course I had the Scaloppini Limone which I usually love but at Aldente it was boring and bland.

2 glasses of 'Red of the Month' wasn't a wine I would rush to drink again and I am not that fussy when it comes to house wine!

Its not a terribly expensive restaurant so on that basis it wasn't a complete disaster but I just wouldn't rush back.

“This is a prime location and beautiful setting in north end of town.”
Reviewed November 12, 2013 via mobile

With all of that said, this restaurant is where to come if you want to be alone. You probably will be the only table seated and served. The food is boring and expensive and it shows. By contrast the italian restaurant next door is almost seated and serving at capacity.
Waste of so much wait staff talent all staring out the front, instead of having customers to wait on. I also prefer the restaurant next door.

“Memorable visit”
Reviewed October 30, 2013

we stayed in Palm Springs for several weeks, and ate in many places. Al Dente stands out as the best for us. Lovely Italian food, I had the Spaghetti bolognese, my husband had the lobster raviolli.
Salad was crisp, wine was good, patio warm and inviting, not crowded... Service excellent.
Will be back when next in town. Depending on where you stay, it might be a bit of a walk to get there, as it is right at the beginning of the strip, but it is well worth the walk.

My husband had the spaghetti with sausage and he likes it. I ordered the Pollo Funghi and it was tasty. Staff are also very attentive. Its nice little place if you want to bring a date or couples date.

“I wasn't impressed”

Service was slow and the food was okay. Good sized portions but not worth the wait. Next time I'll save my money and head to olive Garden.
