Perfect location on Palm Canyon Drive, right in the middle of old town Palm Springs. We actually went there twice during our 3 day stay....first for a root beer float and hot fudge sundae in the afternoon. Later, after having seen a huge cobb salad served, we went back the next night for a casual dinner. Service was great both times, and a huge bowl of extra hot fudge arrived as requested. The cobb salad was fresh and delicious and the hamburger was also quite good. Sit outside if the weather permits, or inside where there is an electric train circling over the booths. Beer and wine are served, but the Merlot I ordered was off....maybe better to stick with the bottled beer.

Huge menu with a great selection. Inside has a nice 50's decor and the staff dress up. The salads looked wonderful and were huge but I just couldn't resist ordering a good old cheese burger and fries. We went there for lunch and it was a nice day so most people sat outside. I would recommend it.

While our burgers were good, the chips were good, the milkshakes were good, the service was dismal. We were seated outside between 7 and 7:30 in the evening. There was only one other table taken outside. Maybe 5 tables were taken inside. But our server could barely rouse herself to come outside.....maybe it was too chilly for her. To pay our bill, we finally had to go inside and speak to the manager.

Usually this is a fun location. Maybe it just depends on the server......it was disappointing.

Rubys had great food and friendly servers. It had a 50 hop feeling right in the middle of main st. downtown. It is a must.
