We have been going to LG's for years and the food and service have been excellent, however, our last trip, the service was so so and the food was definitely not up to their old standards. We had the filet ($42) and it was just an average piece of meat, not the most tender I have had. We also got the local corn and brussel sprouts were the special. The corn was good, but not delicious ($12) and the we didn't even eat the brussel sprouts as they were tasteless. The waiter saw our full dish of sprouts and didn't even ask us if there was a problem. I do not mind paying top dollar for top dollar service and food, but it will be a long time before I go back here, which is really disappointing.

Re-visited after about 6 years. The atmosphere, the food and the service are great. It is expensive but we have never had a better steak anywhere. Compared to a number of other restaurants in the area the price seems to be on par for the level of food and service.

This restaurant choice was a big mistake. Three of us had Rib Eye steaks and the other had the crab cakes and a spinach salad. The steaks were ok but at $35.00 for an 8oz steak - they should have been. The sides of fried green bean and fried potatoes with onions brought the steak meals to over $57.00, and these last two sides were not special. On a positive note the spinach salad was excellent, but I can do as good at home. In my opinion, the meal was quite common and very much over priced. Lastly, when I hear a waiter or waitress over the age of 30 use the phrase "Awesome" when conversing with a customer, I don't equate this with class or special.

Not many places can make go WOW like this place did. Probably the best steak & lobster I've ever had. Service was friendly but not overbearing. Server was helpful in explaining the menu since it was our first time, but more impressive was the bus boy. We didn't realize he was the busboy, but when we asked him about the menu, he was able to confidently point out a few things that made LG's famous as well as his recommendations. The best! Nice wine and atmosphere. Definitely extremely pricey as everything is a la carte but soooooo worth the investment. Will definitely be back.

My wife & I dined at LG's fairly early on a Saturday night; but they were already 1/2 full. This is a great steak house with an excellent wine list. Prices tend towards the upper end; but everything is top quality-service, food & wine. We both ordered the wedge with 1000 Island dressing and the lettuce was icy crisp, fresh and perfectly matured from the heart to the outer leaf. We split their New York cut, medium rare, no butter and a side of broccoli. The steak was HUGE, obviously the end cut of the loin as it was rounded on the top unlike a middle slice. A center cut probably wouldn't be quite as large. It was cooked perfectly, had a lot of juice and was oh, so tender. Top quality is easy to recognize when a steak is this good. We each had a glass of Justin Cabernet Sauvignon which was served at the perfect-slightly just below room temperature amount of chill. As this was by the glass, this wine had a chance to breathe, bringing out the full aroma & body. This is no doubt one of the best California Cabs on the market at a reasonable price. We also appreciate the wine being served in very nice, Chrystal quality wine goblets. Nice glasses seem to make the wine even better. Waiter call backs and bus person water top-offs were perfectly timed and unobtrusive. It is so nice when I notice a waiter pause before the call back when noticing a patron has just forked a mouthful of beef. The dessert menu was presented within seconds of the last mouthful. We declined dessert and the waiter disappeared-for 10 minutes. Our wine glasses were empty, our water glasses full to the brim and still no waiter. When I have to beg for the check, it reminds me of the old saying about the script on the waiter's tombstone-"Saint Peter FINALLY caught his eye". This lack of a check at meals end has become a chronic problem. We dine out 3 or 4 nights per week and by far the majority of time the wait staff disappear once we are finished eating and we have to ask the bus boys to find the server. We usually pay by credit card; but always carry spare cash and small bills so we can have the correct amount for the bill + tip if we can't get the credit card processed once we get the bill. We usually tip 20 to 25% (always more for breakfast staff) when the credit card is picked up and returned promptly; but when we are made to wait for the check and even wait to get the check processed we will pay in cash and leave 10 to 15% depending on the wait. Unfortunately this was a 15% tip experience.
