You almost have to want to find this restaurant as it's in a very non-descript location, but hopefully you will succeed. It's on the main thoroughfare, but it's past the main downtown area, so you're not going to be all the touristy traffic, which is good. Go there for a lovely evening out and you will not be disappointed. Very efficient wait-staff, scrumptious food, etc., etc. No complaints.

I would describe this place as more of European than Mediterranean. The stuffed cabbage rolls appetizer was abreast start. The bread brackets had wonderfully fresh baked bread that butter just melted right into it. Drinks were made perfectly. Each table had two servers so we never had to look for anyone for more drinks, water or whatever was needed.

The Budapest schnitzel was outstanding and so was the Wiener schnitzel. Mashed potatoes were perfectly whipped.

I wish we had room for dessert.

We leaned toward the Hungarian/German side of the menu. Tasty, well prepared, and sufficiently authentic to avoid comparisons. Would recommend without reservation

We were invited to dine here by friends from out of town who had read the reviews. Miro's bills itself as Mediterranean although many items are more Eastern Europe for me - goulash, paprikash and cabbage rolls.

Three things made this restaurant special:

First was the unique variety of selections on the menu. We had appetizers of cabbage rolls, burke and scallops Rockefeller (a wonderful change from oysters which I cannot stand). My companions enjoyed crispy duck and seafood while I had the "combo" of goulash, paprikash and cabbage rolls. The Palm Springs area is the land of "prime" steak houses where you can get a twelve pound hunk of beef, a baked potato and some veggies for about $70 without drinks. It is refreshing to find a restaurant that offers something different prepared to perfection.

Second was the price. Unlike the a la carte menus charging for every item but the toothpick at the steakhouses, the entrees here included soup of the day or a choice of a variety of salads including a cabbage salad with wonderful oil, vinegar and garlic dressing. With the main course, vegetables and a starch are also provided - my combo had both noodles and mashed potatoes. The crispy duck with a sun-dried cherry sauce came with red cabbage, roasted yams and steamed vegetables. The highest price item on the menu, rack of lamb, was $35.

Third were the portions. Although the presentation was truly gourmet, this was no tasting menu. From salads to sides, you got plenty of food to enjoy.

We were so impressed with Miro's, we went back two nights later and were once again delighted with the food and service. I mentioned difficulty in hearing in noisy environments and although the restaurant was not unreasonably noisy, the hostess (owner?) turned down the background music a bit without me asking.

This is a unique and wonderful experience in the land of beef and burritos. Don't miss it!

We decided to give Miro's a try given the good reviews and the proximity to our hotel and we are really glad we did, as the food was very good (we went for the salmon and the sand dabs, the tapas as appetizer, and a shared apple cake; with a bottle of wine price was 100$ plus tip for two) and the service excellent. We asked for outdoor seating, and though the tables we liked were not set, they accomodated our request and promptly prepared a table for us. In sum, worth getting away from downtown and finding your way to Miro's for a very pleasant dinner experience.
