Loved this little out-of-the-way restaurant in Palm Springs; looked like an Italian villa (and I've been to Italy). Atmosphere was a welcome respite from Palm Springs Modernism. Their "travelzoo" special was a real value, staff was wonderful, food great!

What a quaint little place off the beaten path. We had a TravelZoo voucher for dinner; otherwise it would be something we couldn't usually afford. We've wanted to try it since we've driven past it before and heard it was something to see. We were seated in the smaller room with a fireplace just off the bar/entrance area. It was a chilly night, and the fire was a nice way to keep warm, as long as the door to the room wasn't left open (which at times it was, but we would close it if left open for a while). The setting was lovely, but we were a little unsure of the service at first -- the woman who seated us gave us a wine menu but that was all, and we didn't see a server or even the person bringing water for at least 10 minutes. We didn't get menus until after we ordered our wine, and we had to specifically ask (as oppose to enjoying the wine for a little while before perusing the menu). We weren't in a rush, so it wasn't a big deal. And our server turned out to be super nice and personable, and she made fantastic recommendations as far as the appetizer and entrees were concerned. She was extremely busy in the main dining room too, which would explain the fact that others in the same smaller dining area didn't get tended to that quickly after arriving either. Probably due to the increase of folks in town for the film festival. The bread with garlic-olive tapanade dipping oil and the mushroom ragout were extremely tasty -- we could have easily had more ragout; sharing it was not enough! We both ordered the Lake Superior whitefish entree, which was also very good. We ate every bite, so no room for dessert. The TravelZoo voucher was a non-issue (unlike other places we've been, where they automatically tack on a 20% tip regardless of your service), and our server was diplomatic about explaining how the tax and anything beyond what is covered in the voucher is tacked on, plus how the gratuity should take into consideration the actual cost of the meal, not just on the voucher cost. She handwrote what the 20% gratuity would come out to, "to help with the math," but that is fine since in the end it was up to us if we wanted to tip 20% or something else. We were pleased with our server and the excellent food, so we definitely thought she deserved that amount.
We would definitely come back if we saved our pennies for a special occasion. It seems like a lovely place to be in the summer, when they can open up the french doors that are in the little dining area and that looks out over into the courtyard. The Christmas decorations were still up, including the gorgeous trees they had in several places. They made for beautiful surroundings!

This is a beautiful restaurant just south of main drag in Palm Springs. Charming interior with chandeliers, fireplaces, low music. The bar area is also beautiful but the bartender is disorganized and didn't know how to make a martini, made me a second one that still wasn't very good but better than the first. Waiter was excellent and knew his food. Food was also very good and nicely presented. Would return but order wine instead of a mixed drink.

My husband used a coupon from Travelzoo and it was amazing. The service was wonderful, very attentive and designed to make you feel very special. Very cozy restaurant inside a hotel. It was a cold night, but the fireplace and European feel was so welcoming. The presentation of the food was exceptional, only second to the taste. We ordered the Ahi appetizer and it literally melted in our mouths. We both enjoyed the grilled seafood, although the lobster was small and a little over done. We would very much recommend this small restaurant for a nice, relaxing evening.

Europa restaurant is located in the Villa Royale Inn which is several miles from downtown Palm Springs. This was our second visit for dinner. Our waitress (Erin) was delightful and very knowledgable of all menu items. Our appetizer of crab cakes was one of the best. This was followed up with baked salmon for my wife and grilled seafood platter for me. Both entrees were exceptionally good. The service and atmosphere in the intimate dining area was second to none. This is a bit on the pricey side but a wonderful venue for a special occasion. Reservations recommended. Parking is limited. We will be back soon.
