The Europa Restaurant is an amazing jewel hidden within the walls of the Villa Royal Inn. If you check the credentials of the restaurant (I did) you find out that the Wine Spectator has given Europa award after award including their Award of Excellence, Zagat Guide has offered their endorsement "extraordinary to perfection" of the Europa Restaurant for ten consecutive years, AAA has given the restaurant a 4 Diamond Rating for 13 years and Europa's chef, Alan Badzak was European trained so the restaurant's pedigree is unquestionable.
The decor is refined and pleasant, fitting in with the soothing ambiance of the Villa Royale Inn.
After settling in at a table overlooking the rear patio, Jeremy presented me with the very well selected wine list and a very inviting menu. For my dinner I chose the Insalata Europa which featured poached pears, apricots, walnuts and delicious gorgonzola pear vinaigrette. My main entree' was a huge, deliciously flavored Korobuta Pork Osso Bucco presented on a bed of very tasty saffron risotto and served with the sauce from the main dish. The meat was so tender I literally stripped the meat off the shank bone with my fork. The cheesecake desert finished off a great meal. The service was spot on! Not pushy, but not ignoring me either. Jeremy was there when needed, and not when peace would be appreciated.
This is a really wonderful and romantic hideaway hidden inside the hustle and bustle of Palm Springs. It's a definite "go to" for lovers, sophisticated diners or a place to be spoiled.
