Name, decor, hospitality, this place has it all! We'll be back and we love the Orbit! Pool was wonderful as well. Owners have a wonderful job in creating a relaxed, stylish, and original place to stay in the palm springs area.

Enjoyed our stay at the Orbit In. Loved Jade, the manager. He was very helpful! Of all his great recommendations we enjoyed a trip up the tram to the top of the mountain on a hot afternoon the most. The art museum was great also.

We stayed 3 nights in sweltering August heat (116) and could not have been happier with everything at Orbit In. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready yet so Bill gave us a couple free passes to the Art Museum which was very nice. Bill and Elaine are positively terrific hosts pointing us to good restaurants and things to do. The whole property is immaculately clean and it has a really laid back atmosphere. Orbitini hour was great, Elaine pouring the drinks and showing off her Palm Springs knowledge. No kids running around, no late night partiers. Walking distance to the heart of town and to two of Palm Springs' best restaurants (Johanne's and Zin). We stayed in two different rooms, both had their plusses: The Leopard Lounge won over for the absolute 'coolness' factor, just mid-century perfect. Original bathroom and kitchenette, killer furnishings. If the flat screen tv wasn't in there, you'd never know what year it was. The Frey Lounge wasn't as 'retro-cool', as it had obviously been remodeled, but the big sliding glass doors overlooking the pool area was deluxe as was the outdoor shower and patio area looking up at the mountains (and directly at Frey II). Just a great experience. It's not often that I don't find something to complain about, but this place is pretty much perfect.

We stayed in two small inns when we visited Palm Springs in late June 2012 and liked both. We intended to stay in one place, but the first one we contacted was already booked for some of the days of our planned visit. So, we moved to the Orbit for the rest of our stay, and we were not disappointed even though we really liked the first place. Each room has a unique style identified with a particular Mid-Century Modern architect or designer. We stayed in the Bertoia Room, with a real Bertoia chair. The furnishings and decor were right on target, including a functional (contemporary) record player and a collection of vinyl in the hotel office. The kitchen was small and functional, with 60s style "Melmac" dinnerware. Visitors congregated around the Boomerang Bar each day for friendly conversation and happy hour with the Orbit's signature drink, the "Orbitini." The owner appeared one day and served homemade guacamole. Yum! The cooled salt water pool was a guest magnet. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had one minor problem with a sticking lock on the back door to the private patio, and the manager was so apologetic that he offered us free t-shirts, which generate a lot of questions when we wear them at the gym back home. We enjoyed conversations with the friendly guests, managers, and owner. We would definitely return. The place has a hipster vibe. We weren't surprised to see some fedoras here. We enjoyed the easy walking distance to the downtown area, and still the place was very quiet.

Room Tip: Each room is unique. The hotel draws an international crowd. The owner told us that one night the Or...

What a find! This hidden gem is tucked away in an "old Palm Springs" neighborhood within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and night life. It has been impeccably fashioned down to every detail -- delightfully so. It is impeccably maintained -- it is spotless. Pool and hot tub are pristine. We stayed in 107 Bossanovaville, and loved its sense of privacy and the super-comfy bed and luxury linens. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the other guests are fun, so hanging out at the poolside bar for Orbitinis and breakfast is a pleasure. This is no funky "mid-century wannabe." It sings with authenticity, style, passion, and attention to detail. Can't wait to go back!

It's very easy to truly enjoy Palm Springs while staying in the Orbit in ! The staff (owner and manager) have thought of everything to make your stay complete . If there is anything left out, just ask because they will go out of their way to accommodate you. The hotel is SPOTLESS !!EVERYWHERE!!! Each room is themed and different! We stayed in the Eames room ,but I peaked into a couple of other rooms while they were being cleaned and they all are equally 50's decorated and spotless. The pool area is wonderful and the ammenities are well thought of.
Sun lotion, water , bikes ,breakfast bar, etc ,, location to town is wonderful , you could walk , ride a bike , and car parking is available.. The only negative was that when I checked out ,I truly did not want to leave !,
Great value for price!

Room Tip: I don't think there is a bad room!

We stayed in July 2012 and had a wonderful time. Relaxing, peaceful, walking distance to town, free bikes, orbitinis are delicious! Staff is very kind and attentive. Rooms are awesome if you like mid- century style. CLEAN! This place is so clean and organized. Worth every penny. We really enjoyed it and we'll be returning again! You feel like you're in a friends' backyard, relaxing with drinks and saltwater pool. It really is an experience, not just a place to stay for a night.
