Owner description: A re-creation of a general store during the 1930s and early 1940s, this unique museum displays the original fixtures, hardware, medicines and products of that period.

Although you can't purchase anything in this store it was really cool to see all the old things. It was like walking into a drugstore from 70 years ago. Everything in this little shop is original and a lot of the prescription bottles still have pills in them. There were old signs, medicines, food cans, toiletries etc. My only complaint is that you can't get really close to any of the items because there is a metal gate which prevents it. I believe it was only 95 cents to get in. It is very small but for 95 cents you should really check it out.

It is the collection of one person and includes almost every item that was in grocery, clothing stores and pharmacies from the early part of the last century to the 1950's

Stumbled on this museum while walking Palm Canyon our first night in town. Decided we should stop back because it did look intriguing from the outside. We stopped by the next morning on our way to the street fair and found a truly amazing collection of goods. We also enjoyed a wonderful conversation with the staffer who gave us a bit of history on the place. Well worth spending the 95 cent admission to take a quick peek into history.

We tried several times to see this museum but it's limited times of opening were difficult to match with our schedules. It was also hard to find as everyone we asked was unsure where this was. Finally found it in central downtown, right on Palm Canyon Drive, in the small museum area there but not open!! Hope to get to see it thoroughly next time. I would only recommend this museum as a person who has entered it but will put a yes next to it as we plan to see it next March when we return to Palm Springs. Ask your lodging manager/conceriege to get you their schedule.
