Great trail. Easy to moderate. Trail through the palm trees was unexpectedly awesome. Best of the hiking we did over several days

Loved the unusual walk among giant- PALMS! cool and mysterious, unlike any other hike we've been on.

The largest and most impressive of the "Indian Canyons" south of downtown Palm Springs, Palm Canyon is the largest natural oasis of desert fan palms in the United States and home to the "Palm Springs" which give the nearby town its name. There is a vistor center, a refreshment stand and a gift shop at the top of the slope leading down into the canyon, but once past a small picnic area, the visitor is pretty much alone with the wilderness. Shady paths meander beneath the towering fan palms along a boulder-strewn stream bed. Here and there, water from underground springs bubbles up from the ground. The Canyon climbs back for nearly 15 miles into the Santa Rosa Mountains, but there are numerous shorter hikes that can be taken to various smaller oasis and scenic spots off the main canyon. Some of the hikes are quite long and can be arduous so come prepared and get the most current information from the rangers at the visitor's center before you attempt them.

The trails were well marked and safe. There were choices for easy, challenging, and difficult. Met wonderful people along the way who were courteous and respectful of nature.
