“If You Want Relaxation--This Is The Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

My husband and I stayed at the La Maison over the New Year for 4 nights.
If you are looking for peace, quiet, non commercial ambience, hospitality and relaxation . . . this is the place. The "feel" of this boutique type place actually is like staying at a friend's house.

The first floor rooms completely surround the pool area . . . so you can walk directly through the French doors of your room to the pool or Jaquzzi. We had a bistro table and chairs right outside our room to have our morning coffee and enjoy the delicious home baked goodies . . . yogurt, bagels and cream cheese, and fresh fruit daily also.

I needed a much overdue relaxation and Richard was there every day as I lounged poolside offering his delicious latte.
Refridgerators are in the rooms...luxurious linens and upscale toiletries along with a lavender sachet bag on the bed....oh yes...a little bowl of chocolates bedside.

The pool area is welcoming with plenty of very comfortable lounges and towels.
In the evenings, you can enjoy your complimentary wine or beer sitting around the fire pit on the patio. If it's too chilly outside in the evening, you can curl up in an afghan available to you.
The pool and patio area take on a different feel and look in the evenings than the day. The impressive palms are lit up and a few trees have their own 'twinkle' lights . . . very romantic.

If you are so inclined, you can bring your own food to grill....a wonderful gas BBQ is yours to use with a dining bar.

La Maison is not fancy . . not 'L.A.' and not commercial. No hussel bussel here. It has a 'european' flair that I would consider classy, comfy and very clean. No small children. Don't worry about the location . . . on a busy street . . . you won't notice a thing . . and if you do hear a siren once in a while . . . ok . . . you're not in the mountains. The entire property is surrounded by very large shrubs making a beautiful natural fence.

Your hosts, Richard and Cornelia are very hospitable and eager for their guests to have a wonderful stay. Cornelia even provided complimentary transportation for me when I went for my 'spa day'. I didn't want to leave . . . we will be back.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #5....excellent!

Let me start by saying that I would give La Maison a 6 star rating if I could.
Cornelia and Richard are the consummate hosts. My wife and I felt like we were in the home of long time friends, rather than innkeepers.
From the pristinely clean and tastefully appointed rooms, to the freshest and abundant breakfast offerings, no detail is overlooked. Richard's expertise as a barista is evident in his preparation of the most delicious cappuccino, latte or regular coffee each morning, or even as an afternoon pick-me-up.
The location of La Maison is ideal, being close to downtown shopping, golf, and restaurants.
We plan on many return visits.
Did I mention that La Maison is discreetly nestled away amongst the most beautiful landscape imaginable? Well, it is, with sufficient lounge chairs for repose, and quaint tables and chairs to relax with a beverage and a good book amongst the wonderous palm trees and fountains scattered around the grounds.
La Maison will exceed your expectations!

Room Tip: Our room, #5 overlooked the pool and patio. Just perfect.

This is our fourth visit to La Maison and we will never again stay anywhere else in the Palm Springs area We stayed four nights this time. We love La Maison, Richard and Cornelia, and Murphy their dog (also their seldom seen daughter). This is a wonderful small hotel, quiet and serene. We love room number 1 and always get it (ask for any specific room number at time of booking). Cornelia's lavender scones (available on surprise mornings) are very special. No young children due to the open pool area so don't expect anyone under 14. The adult atmosphere is welcome. We return as often as we can. There is no crazy "resort or parking fee". The room rate plus obligatory taxes is all you'll pay. There are no hidden or surprise costs. Always a great respite. We'll be back as soon as possible.

Room Tip: Look on their website. There is a photo and description of each room.

Recently spent 2 nights at La Maison, and if we ever get back to Palm Springs again, we will be returning to this lovely little oasis in the desert. Charming, comfortable, clean, and in a great location/neighborhood in Palm Springs. Owners Richard & Cornelia are super nice & super helpful. Exemplary hosts in every way. Kudos!

We recently spent the weekend in Palm Springs to celebrate hubby's birthday. It turned out to be very chilly, but we still had a great time staying at La Maison. The owners are very personable and the TLC that has been poured into redoing this property in the last two years is evident. We had the king room upstairs since it was so cold outside and the upstairs rooms have carpeting. The bed was super comfortable with nice linens and simple décor. Each evening there is wine and beer available. Always fresh popped popcorn at hand and continental breakfast items each morning including fruit and bagels. Sunday we enjoyed freshly made scones. Walked to dinner at Guiseppes which was a good Italian place.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the upstairs room #12. Very quiet and comfortable.

Wonderful owners, wonderful guests, wonderful stay. Very gracious. They make you feel at home. Enjoyed the amenities completely. Took a bike ride downtown. Stopped and had breakfast on the way back to the hotel. Swam in the pool. Took a couple of hot tubs. Walked to dinner. Great location. More of a Bead & Breakfast feel. Looking forward to our next visit. Can't wait.

The two owners of this hotel are an absolute delight! They make you feel so at home. From making caffe lattes in the morning (or anytime you feel like it) to scrumptious seasoned popcorn in the evening and a tidy continental breakfast - you are pampered.

The rooms are gorgeous. Get one on the first floor that abuts the pool if you can. Definitely worth it. The beds sheets were super high count and the mattress wonderful. The tub/shower was old-school but workable (the owner told me that our bathroom was on the upgrade list in the near future).

They were installing a huge barbecue when we were here, so you could plan on cooking your own steak if you were so inclined. We traveled in winter, so did not sample either the pool or hot tub, but they looked most inviting and all the nice seating areas in the patio were wonderful, including some comfy chairs surrounding a cute fireplace to keep you warm.

Room Tip: First floor rooms have the best view of the beautiful pool and patio areas.
