This place was great! Our unit had one bedroom and two bathrooms, a gas fireplace, granite counter tops, very clean with nice furnishings, and two flat screen TVs. The resort had beautiful landscaping, friendly staff, and great facilities. We would recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed at Desert Isle in mid-Sept. 2007. Being a lower point in the season, it was only $95 Canadian per night. We had a large condo (probably 1200 sq ft) with King size bed, 2 bathrooms with skylights (a great feature), living room and kitchen. It was well-maintained and spotless. There is a cot in one of the closets for extra people. You could park right in front on the condo, or use nearby covered parking. From the patio, we had a view of the pool. Propane for the BBQ is $5 extra, but worth it for the wonderful dinners that we had. There are other facilities on-site, such as a tennis court and gym. One downside is the construction for big box stores adjacent to the complex. Work starts around 6 AM and ends at 4 PM. It didn't really affect our sleep. I must say that this was a highlight of our Southern California holiday, and we would stay here again.

We did an exchange through RCI so we were in Palm Springs over Christmas. Our unit was #42 an upstairs corner unit. Check in was very pleasant and the room was ready at 4:00pm.
We go to our room and the first thing we think of is "This place is huge". It is very large with a nice kitchen, dining room, huge living room two baths and one master bedroom.
We open the drapes and "surprise" one window is looking at a wall! :-(. We open the drapes and the deck is huge and the view is great looking up at the mountains. Leave one set of drapes shut and leave the other ones open. problem solved.
The master bath has a sauna/shower combo that is great. Start the morning with a shower, switch to the sauna to open up the pores and then you are ready for a great day in Palm Springs.
The people at the front desk rate 5 stars as they were very helpful.
The unit is huge, the beds comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need. The pools were heated to 85 degrees and the hot tubs were around 103 degrees.
Wifi is available for $9.95 a day or $49 a week. Very fast connection. Faster ten my DSL at home.
Just two blocks away is a Ralph's grocery store so you can walk there in the morning and get what ever you might need for the day. If you don't have a Ralph's card be sure to go on line and get one as it does save you about 20%. We don't live in California but we got the Ralph's card for when we visit.
Right next to the resort is the Manhattan Deli/Restaurant.
This is a true New York style deli/restaurant with great food and pastries with many Jewish specialties. The portions are huge and the service is great. $10 for a huge deli sandwich that easily would feed two.
All in all the Desert Isle is a great place to stay. We had three in the room and there was plenty of room, covered parking to protect your car, 15 minutes to El Paseo, 5 minutes to downtown Palm Springs and 5 minutes to the airport.
Everything is spotless and the grounds are immaculate.
I would be more than happy to stay here again.

We stayed at this resort for a week sarting November 24, 2006. We had a one bedroom suite with one full and one three quarter bath. One of the baths had a steam room feature. The unit had a large patio with a table and 4 chairs, plus 2 loungers and a coffee table. Each unit also has its own BBQ. They charge you a reasonable $5 to bring you a tank of propane. Our unit had a gas fireplace which did not light easily and we did have to call 3 times to get it adjusted. We checked in on Friday and it was not fixed until Monday. The appliances are older in the full kitchen but clean and in fine working order. It even had a trash compactor.

On our first evening we were invited to a meet and greet and were offered appetizers and punch. There is a nice heated pool on the well kept grounds and two spas. We appreciated the covered parking and the fact that there was a good deli next door to the resort. The only thing we found in the unit that we did not like was the carpet. It was torn in one spot in the livingroom and someone had burned a bit of the bedroom carpet with an iron. Both repairs should have been fixed as it detracted from an otherwise nice- looking place. I also want to mention that the suite did not have a safe and the front desk did not have one either. That is of course a worry for any traveller who does not want to carry large amounts of cash or travellers' cheques about with them. We enjoyed our stay and would be pleased to stay there again.

We were at the Desert Isle resort the week of May 14 after spending a week at the Carlsbad Inn. This resort is also a rental resort like a hotel in addition to being a time-share. We had made an RCI exchange for this resort and thought the unit we had (#30) was very spacious and comfortable. The master bedroom bathroom has a steam sauna in it although we did not use this feature. We also had a spectactular view from the patio of the mountains with the decorative pool fountains in front of us (should have used some of this space for a bigger pool). The pool is very small and luckily there were never that many people using it. This resort gets many people for long weekends as it was somewhat crowded from Fri. to Monday but the rest of the week it was nearly empty (very quiet). There is a restaurant next door called the Manhattan deli, somewhat like a jewish NY deli for their menu but they also have a bakery area with incredible deserts. This resort does not have any activities nor a concierge to set up sight-seeing trips. They do have all of the brochures in the lobby so you can call to set up any trips you may want to do. we went to Joshua Tree with one of the guided tours ($39 each - well worth it). This resort is located on Palm Canyon drive about 3 miles south of town, nice location. Would probably stay here again.

Wow, what a wonderful stay I had this weekend. I stayed in a spacious 1 bedroom unit that had a fireplace, kitchenette, 2 spacious bathrooms, 1 king-size bed + a roll-away + pull-out sofa bed, patio facing the pool and your own bbq. The master bathroom had a mini sauna too...unbelievable for the price that I paid. Marie in the front desk was very friendly and courteous, I truly felt welcomed there. With all the amenities and extras, I plan on going back from some spring break fun or summer vacations with friends & family.
