HORRIBLE. We would have been better off at Motel 6 next door.
This place was filthy. Carpet was nasty,. Furniture was stained, old, just plain
worn out. Paint peeling from the walls .Pool and pool area was more like a community
center. NEEDS major renovation. Also most hotel staff rude and not very helpful.
My suggestion if you're considering staying here.....KEEP LOOKING.

My wife and I recently traveled to La Jolla as we always do each Fall. The weather was poor so we "road tripped" to what we saw as good weather in Palm Springs. We found this place online by pure accident. The location cannot be beat with casino and several food choices along with supermarket nearby. The room is clean and has all you need for your stay with modern HD TV and WiFi. Pool is one of the largest in Palm Springs and in the day hosted the "royalty" of Hollywood. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The lodge location sits at the foot of mountains and is peaceful and quite. If you MISS the good old days of lodge travel and "Americana" lost in these days of 'progress" this is the place for you. Also has a dog park on grounds and is four leg friendly... The BEST value for your buck in Palm Springs!

Room Tip: All rooms are good as they wrap around the pool area. Would suggest a second floor room so you can see sunset in morning!

The Caliente Resort front desk clerk made certain we knew about the free city shuttle just a few steps away. It ran every 15 minutes and made it a breeze to get downtown and back.

Front desk staff, friendly and efficient. Rooms smelled fresh and were very clean. The beds and pillows just right. The pool area was well maintained and palms groomed. The hot tub and pool were clean. The hot tub jets helped soothe tired achy bodies. Two from shopping, the third from a Spartan racer!
Room 113 is right across from pool area, just perfect. The only issue the shower was tough to turn on! But once our Spartan flexed some muscle that darn thing finally came on !
Plenty of pressure and hot water. I'd definitely recommend this Retro Motel. It's funny my 50 yr old kid would make this request. These are the places we stayed when I was a kid. The expression of concern on her husbands face when we pulled in was priceless. Kids!! Lol

We only stayed here for one night and arrived quite late but it was still a good experience. Check in was simple and easy and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was nice enough and very clean. Relatively basic but had everything you need. The real jewel is the pool area and grounds which are lovely. We were a bit gutted we weren't staying here a few more nights. I'd definitely visit again.
