this hotel's advert states 500 thread sheets. the sheets were threadbare and torn. i phave photograps of this. the hotel is rundown and shabby. its more like a highway motel with very small rooms which they advertise as "Delux". the bathroom has no shower and is 4'x6'. the smallest bathroom i have ever been in. the restaurant is closed down. the coffee machine is cheap and they leave only 1 coffee packet. we thought we were getting somekind of decent hotel but this was unbelieveably dreadful for $150.00 per night. there was no complimentary newspaper, no extra towels (also threadbare) and the room keys dont work. the fitness room was half renovated, with plumbing pipes visable, no washbasin or toilet, just an empty shabby room. we were thoroughly disgusted by the bedrooms. we booked 2 months ahead and when we checked in 1 hour earlier than we should have and were told they did have a room we could check into. we thought this room was only for the interim until we could check into our $150.00 per night room. well that was the $150.00 per night. the next door neighbour had the same room and paid $84.00 per night. sadly we had booked for 4 nights and had to stay but there are many many hotels which offer clean, modern facilities so dont even think of staying at the Caliente tropics!

Room Tip: go to another hotel.

This is a really lovely place, close to downtown on Rte.111. Beautiful pool area with nicely appointed, clean, safe rooms. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Some very nice restaurants in the area. The WIFI was kind of spotty but they let me use the hotel computer when I needed too.

I just stayed in a King Hawaiian room at Caliente last week. The room was great, better than we expected, and the staff friendly. We booked a week in advance and stayed for six nights so we paid a very reasonable price, for the March high season. The pool was clean & a comfortable temperature. The bedding was luxurious, a pillow-top, too soft for my own taste.

The wifi did not work in the rooms. The office staff re-booted the routers everyday, but that only helped for a few minutes. Their system is not powerful enough for when the hotel is almost full. The only way I could get work done, was to do it in the hotel lobby. Fortunately, the lobby is open early & stays open late. Some others did computer work by the pool, so they didn't have wifi reception in their rooms either. They have plans to improve the wifi system, but they didn't say if that was next week or next year.

Room Tip: Hawaiian rooms, on the South side, are on the 2nd floor overlooking the garden & pool, therefore...

This hotel is really nothing special. Everything what you'd expect of old hotel: fridge didn't work, wi-fi didn't work most of the time, old AC didn't work, shower would use some renovation. I will not stay in Caliente Tropics again. But it's just me. I'm sure that someone who is fond of hotel's pools can be satisfied since the one looked nice.

We stayed a weekend at the caliente resort recently. We had our dog with us, and we were very happy with how dog friendly the caliente is. They have a beautiful pool, and near it is a lawn where the dogs were allowed to play. There weren't a ton of dogs there that weekend (it was modernism week) but enough to make it interesting for our pet. The rooms were very clean. Our only problem was with our door. We had trouble locking it. But the staff was very responsive and even credited one night because of the lock problem. The only thing that would have made it better is if the restaurant had been open. Apparently it has been closed for over a year.

I decided at the last minute to spend time in Palm Springs. I contacted Maritza told her I was on my way out and asked what her best rate would be for the time I was planning to stay. She advised of the rate, I agreed and asked her to secure my room. She has never failed to give me the best rate. Upon arrival Steven advised Maritza had reserved my favorite room.
The entire hotel staff from the desk agents to the chamber people are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The ENTIRE property is well maintained.
Thank you guys for another excellent stay.
