This hotel became and Renaissance two years ago and underwent a beautiful remodel leaving a gorgeous sleek lobby, updated rooms and a vibrant pool area. We had no complaints. Pool chaises are done in a very hip shade of green with blue pool towels. My only critique is that the towels are ready to be replaced and that's all I can say that would be considered a negative.
Arriving early, 11:30 am, the agent promptly secured a room and then let me know he had upgraded us without my even asking. And no, I am not a Marriott member with premium status. We were given a junior suite with pool view.
The hotel is running a special, which I find hard to believe. $149 and you receive $100 to spend any way you choose on the property each day of your stay, so the room is basically $49. LOVE that.
Hallways have been done in a bright orange and yellow motif that is fun and very typical of what you might expect in Palm Springs. The rooms are more than comfortable with 42" LG flat screens and Aveda toiletries. Beds are perfect with 6 down pillows!
Valet parking is available. Self parking is $10, but you can easily park on a side street for free. There is plenty of parking, free or paid. Internet is free in the lobby (wi-fi) and $12.95 in the rooms, waived for Marriott Rewards premium members. I'm using the lobby to work rather than spend on internet and it makes for excellent people watching. There's even an internet work area with plug ins. The lobby bar has two screens above the bartenders and four screens at the other end. Perfect when sports are on. From 5 pm - 7 pm they have Happy Hour with 1/2 price app's and $5 well drinks. The lunch/dinner menu is very reasonable and I'm assuming the b'fast menu will be just as reasonably priced.
We will have no problem and will look forward to staying here again. The location if you want to be in downtown Palm Springs is second to none. The Hyatt and the Hilton are the only close by competition the Hilton is really dowdy and in need of a major refurb by comparison. The Hyatt has recently been upgraded but it's on Palm Canyon, which is a very busy street and we've never even looked at it.
If you want a very friendly staff, quick to help you, a great location and hip atmosphere, you can't beat the price point of this property.
