Try squash blossoms or breaded chicken breast. Usually just find a high top seat in the bar. II Corso has a really up beat vibe.

An Italian gem in Palm Springs, is corso had a very pleasant atmosphere, well trained staff and offers both bar and dining room. The bar is a great place for a drink and lighter menu - lots of great choices and the dining room menu is filled with typical Italian dishes with great flavour. Don’t delay, try it, you’ll like it

One walks into an airy, extremely well appointed (the light fittings sway in the breeze), modern Italian restaurant. The waitstaff are well trained, patient and humorous. All four of us cleaned our plates and the waiter remarked “I’ll have to have a word with the chef about his quality” and the deserts were excellent too. From the manager to the buss boy, everyone played their part to make this a wonderful experience.

The Great: We went on a Saturday night and this was CLEARLY the hot, happening place in town. Il Corso was packed, hip, bustling and beautiful. The "heart of downtown" location is perfect. (Parking is convenient and plentiful). The room and spacious patio are really well designed, with that modern but old-world warmth and charm. Think lots of stone, industrial details, open ceiling and so forth. This is a huge room but one that doesn't feel cavernous.

Front desk staff was attractive, very friendly and honored our reservation the minute we walked in - a bit unexpected, considering the crowd.

We were also impressed with the wine list. It was very well curated, with a good selection of "wines by the glass" and, surprisingly for this kind of venue, reasonably priced.

The Good: The service was actually very good. Our server was friendly, prompt and clear with his menu descriptions. (You might even describe his approach as "rapid fire"). The other staff were equally organized, efficient and attentive. Having said that, I wish there were a bit of time for some personality. We might as well have ordered from a drone. And, it DID take a long time to get our check, when the meal was complete.

Now, to the food. Also good. Not great. The Carpaccio was quite tasty. The Panzanella salad was, likewise, delicious although not really a Panzanella. (It was a good salad with crunchy croutons, rather than a salad with stale, soaked bread). The Saltimbocca was fine but not memorable and the accompanying gnocchi was a tad overdone. Finally, the Pasta Carbonara was really delicious and perfectly cooked, but I found the sauce "Parmesan gritty" rather than creamy and smooth.

Pricing, by the way, was perhaps a tad on the high side, but actually not too bad for the venue.

In sum, we had a nice evening. Il Corso was nice and seems like it might be a good choice for a larger group, but there was nothing really special or exceptional about our dining experience.

Loved this place even though dessert was small we had a funny waiter named Arturo who made the evening more interesting. The decor and ambience was romantic but not over the top. I had grilled calamari which was excellent and we shared the entree of shrimp and angel hair pasta. The dessert was good but small for the price. Great service, food and style and I would go back .
