Owner description: The place to meet new friends is at this old-fashioned street fair with sidewalk performers, musicians, farmer's market, gifts and lots of food.

One of the nicest street fairs I've ever attendeed. No junk, just interesting and varied crafts. A lot of stuff reasonably priced. Very large. Friendly atmosphere.

Now this market was amazing. We parked a few blocks away and went early to ensure we saw everything. This market has it all, tons of nice bling and food and interesting and varied booths. Great entertainment every few blocks which so added to the atmosphere.
I liked the police presence who you can see chatting to everyone as they walk by.
We did not eat which I regret as some of the food was very tempting.
All of the sellers were friendly and despite the huge crowd everyone was polite to each other when making their way down the streets.
At all times you felt safe and secure, the sellers proud of their original work as they should be was nice too, all willing to tell you about their works.Did not see any mported junk.
If you have a THursday night free go to this market, I came away wanting to go back again and again. Palm Springs should be very proud of this market as it is a great draw for a city to have.

The market was busy right at 6pm when it began. Park a block over and get there early as spots are at a premium. We walked leisurely through the whole thing and it took about 1.5-2 hours. It's a very enjoyable market with high quality goods, vendors and shops along the drive that are also open late. There were thousands of people there and it gets busy at some popular booths but we had no problem talking to vendors and viewing the products. People were polite and accommondating when bumping into each other and a highly visible police presence ensured that things were kept orderly. There were ample food vendors as well, and they were equally busy. A great change from the cheap flea market feel of the weekend market. A definite must visit when in the area on a Thursday evening.

Every Thursday there are blocks and blocks and blocks on Palm Canyon Drive closed off for VillageFest. This is a really lively and friendly market well worth the visit. You will find really great Arts, crafts, farmers' markets, bakeries, music and entertainment and more. It's really great to see that this market continues year round and seems to be equally popular with locals as well as tourists.

This was my 2nd time at the Street Fair, and again I really enjoyed the diversity of the stalls.
There is lots of choice here, particularly for tourists, and far superior to many of the 'markets' we have in the UK. There are arts, crafts, photos, soaps, candles, metalwork, jewellery, dog costumes, ladies fashion, sweets, other food, etc and a number of food stalls so you could get your dinner here as well.
It will take you about 1.5 hours to walk up and down both sides of the market, and it opens at 6pm during the winter (although we arrived at 5.30pm, found easy street parking nearby and most of the stalls were already open)
My last visit was better than this because of the weather. The desert wind does manage to get downtown it would seem, and a number of stalls lost items to the gusts of winter wind here. Rain also attempted to get us a number of times, but didn't quite manage it.
Good buskers and some fabulous fudge from Olde Homestead Fudge Company made for a lovely evening.
