When our friends brought us here, they warned us it would be touristy, and they were right. We did see the Marilyn Monroe statue the last day before it was shipped off to New Jersey, which was a hoot. We went to the Thursday night street festival that was so crowded that we could hardly see anything. Most of those people came for the food, not the art. I didn't notice the Walk of Stars until I looked down and recognized a name, but most were "humanitarians" and other locals that must have paid a lot of money for their plaques (if the criteria is the same for the Hollywood Walk of Fame). It would behoove the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce to have more famous residents immortalized.
