The vast majority of the reviews for the Annenberg Theatre in the Palm Springs Art Museum point to the beauty of the theatre and the quality of Coyote StageWorks' productions - Suds, Boeing Boeing, etc. I wrote about being blown away by the quality of their first completely free Play Date last year - Lawrence Luckinbill performing his one-man play "Clarence Darrow Tonight." Many many people were turned away (the Annenberg seats 433). I just learned their first free Play Date of the 2013-14 season is the Antaeus Company's reading of The Fox, a play by Alan Miller, based on the novella by D. H. Lawrence. It will take place Thursday, November 21st at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available starting November 19th by calling or going by the Box Office, 101 Museum Drive, Palm Springs, 760-325-4490.

The Annebergs sre very interesting people. Mr. Anneberg went to prison no, it was his father.
His father went to prison for tax evasion. Mr. Anneberg however was cut of another cloth and became very sucsuessful in media. Primarily t v guide. They built this big mansion in the desert and have had many noted dignitaries as their guests. The most recent, although they are both dead is rhe Obamas. The property is closed down specifically for government buisness.
Do not miss the tour nor the film nor the history.
Hear your favorite government celebrity comment on the luxurious estate or extensive art collection that travelled with the Annebergs to their current residence any where they would fly in the world.

As visitors , we discovered that there tends to be a free film show early on a Thursday evening ( approx 5.30pm ) here . Visit before you go to the streetfest . We watched Hidden Away , a recent film based in Palm Springs .

This is a very nice theatre that shows foreign (mostly sub-titled)movies and black and white classics. These are free to the public on Thursday nights. A nice way to spend an evening where you can enjoy the Thursday night Palm Springs street faire after the movie and enjoy a cocktail at happy hour at one of the many excellent restaurants in Palm Springs.
