Chada Thai serves lunch until 3 pm. We had shrimp dishes and were surprised the number and quality of the food for the price. A great place!

It seems that we visit this restaurant once every year. Yesterday was the first time this year.

We were the only people in the restaurant at 7.30pm, so wondered how it could keep going and whether the food was as good as in the past. We needn't have been concerned: there seemed to be a number of take-outs and a number of people came in to tables before we left an hour later. And, as for the food.......
.......we ordered a glass of house red wine and, to share, a pot of Tom Kah, which comes in a two-tiered tureen, with fire keeping the soup hot. Tom Kah is hot & sour coconut soup with mushrooms, lemongrass & chicken with a definite salty coconut flavour. It is to be spooned out of the tureen into your individual bowl. Delicious.

My wife ordered and enjoyed the calamari appetiser, while I ordered the Pineapple Red Curry with shrimp (7), bell pepper, basil leaves & coconut milk. It was truly spicy, and mixed with a bowl of steamed rice, which came with it had a delicious coconut taste and the shrimp, which had obviously been put in at the last moment, just delightfully tender, not overcooked.

We passed on the desserts.

Definitely recommended.

Total cost $41.15 and we left a $9 tip.

We wandered around Palm Springs and happened upon this place for lunch. We both had Pad Thai and enjoyed it very much!

Visited Chada last week; we were somewhat disappointed.

The food was kind of pricey; one curious thing was, even though the window advertises that the lunch special is only Mon.-Fri. (we visited Sat.), they gave us the lunch special menu with prices listed, but charged the non-special price (of course.)

The portion sizes were much smaller than what we've experienced at other Thai restaurants. The "pot' of Tofu Kha Khai soup was considerably smaller than pots we've received at other places for the same price. The soup was watery, bland and lacked the usual Kha Kai things like lime leaves and baby corn. The dishes were not too bad (the tofu cashew dish was tasty, and the kids liked the orange chicken) but the portion sizes were rather small and we ended up actually wanting more when we usually take some home with us after a meal. My wife thought the yellow curry dish wasn't too great but I thought it had a nice flavor.

The most disappointing thing for the kids - no fortune cookies! We even asked for some but they said they didn't have any - that's a small but nice gesture we've gotten at every other Thai place we've eaten at.

Total bill - 45 bucks including tip.

All in all not a bad restaurant but we are used to better, and will try other Thai restaurants in the P.S. area on future visits.

This restaurant is a little out of the busy downtown Palm Springs, but worth the search. We had nice spring rolls, green papaya sale, green curry chicken, a mixed seafood dish, and crab friend rice. All dishes were well spiced, but not "Thai hot". Service was a little slow on a Sunday evening and our dishes did not come out at the same time. We were sharing, but prefer not to eat each separately. Our only disappointment was they were out of dessert. Lovely to window shop in this are of Mid Century stores.
