It seems that we visit this restaurant once every year. Yesterday was the first time this year.
We were the only people in the restaurant at 7.30pm, so wondered how it could keep going and whether the food was as good as in the past. We needn't have been concerned: there seemed to be a number of take-outs and a number of people came in to tables before we left an hour later. And, as for the food.......
.......we ordered a glass of house red wine and, to share, a pot of Tom Kah, which comes in a two-tiered tureen, with fire keeping the soup hot. Tom Kah is hot & sour coconut soup with mushrooms, lemongrass & chicken with a definite salty coconut flavour. It is to be spooned out of the tureen into your individual bowl. Delicious.
My wife ordered and enjoyed the calamari appetiser, while I ordered the Pineapple Red Curry with shrimp (7), bell pepper, basil leaves & coconut milk. It was truly spicy, and mixed with a bowl of steamed rice, which came with it had a delicious coconut taste and the shrimp, which had obviously been put in at the last moment, just delightfully tender, not overcooked.
We passed on the desserts.
Total cost $41.15 and we left a $9 tip.
