This is the stereotypical, basic timeshare. Not that that’s bad, just descriptive. Clean. Functional. 2BR, 2BA. No lockout. Decent location, but you need a car to get around. (Hey! This is California!) There are 2 levels with no elevator.
Kitchen: Fully equipped. 4-burner stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, blender and toaster. Dishes, silverware, and glassware (incl. wineglasses) for 8. Basic pots, pans and utensils. Paper towels, dish liquid, and dishwasher soap. Granite countertops. Large pass-thru to...
Dining room: 2 bar stools at pass-thru. Large, wooden dining table with 6 not-quite-comfortable chairs. Ceiling fan and light. Wall phone.
Living room: uncomfortable sofa, 2 chairs with lamp table, coffee table, 36” flat-screen TV, and DVD player.
Master bedroom: King-size bed, 5 pillows, 2 nightstands with 2 drawers each, dresser, 30” flat-screen TV, alarm clock, phone. Large, walk-in closet with safe. Only 10 hangers— we could have used more. Bathroom en-suite: Large vanity with 2 sinks, plenty of drawer and cabinet space. Medicine cabinet. Tub with shower. Small bath and facial soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. More was available at the front desk. 4 each: washcloth, hand towels, and bath towels. Commode. Facial and bath tissues with spares.
Second bedroom: 2 twin beds (some units have 1 queen instead). 4 pillows, nightstand with 2 drawers, small chest, alarm clock. No TV. Large closet. 10 hangers, and shelves.
Bathroom in hallway: Directly outside 2BR. Small. Vanity with 1 sink, cabinet space. Walk-in shower. Small bath and facial soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. 4 each: washcloth, hand towels, and bath towels. Commode. Facial and bath tissues with spares.
Utility closet in hallway: Broom. Vacuum. Dust pan. Toilet plunger. Clothes pole with 5 hangers. Fire extinguisher.
There was carpeting throughout, except in the kitchen, of course, and in the hallways. A maid replaced the towels and emptied the trash mid-stay.
Our unit was on the 1st floor. It had front and rear patios, each with 2 chairs. Each had high walls and an iron gate, but the gates didn't lock! The complex was not secured, so beware! There was a free wifi (so-so) with an option for paid (and presumably faster) wifi.
On site: Grounds are attractive and well-kept. 1 tennis court. Large pool and hot tub on one side of complex with a smaller pool and hot tub on the other. Putting green. Enclosed table tennis table (1). Sports equipment is available at the front desk. Several BBQ grills. Laundry and weight rooms, but we didn't use either. Don't know if there were any activities for kids, but I doubt it.
Other: There were no unexpected fees, no convenience store, no restaurant and no concierge. On the plus side, there was no annoying sales rep! There was coffee and tea available in the lobby all day.
We stayed 10 nights for the annual International Film Festival and found it extremely convenient for that.
So, while there was no Marriott/Hilton “luxury,” it was a nice, basic timeshare. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. (And I'm a hard rater!)
