Richard who I believe is the owner, was very charming and gracious.
Richard visited with all of us as we soaked in the beautiful Pool and Spa.
Several of the quests were repeat customers...always a good sign!
The buffet in the AM was very nice.
The Rooms were clean and very comfortable.
This resorts is quiet and professional..WE LOVED IT.
Thank you East Canyon Hotel and Spa for a wonderful, relaxing get away:)

The reviews are pretty much spot-on with this place -- the grounds are lush, the rooms are well appointed, and Richard is a great owner. There were personal touches in the room when we got there, including a note in my our name when we showed up. That's just the kind of customer service that keeps this place successful.

There are 2 things, I'd like to mention. They are not necessarily drawbacks, but just things to be aware of.

(1) The breakfast was plentiful, but everything was store-bought. From reading the reviews, we were expecting some things to be home-made (like muffins). Maybe it was our mis-interpretation of the reviews, but we did expect the Costco muffins that were served. Not a huge deal because there was yogurt and fruit and excellent coffee.

(2) We experienced both mid-week and weekend crowds, as we were there for both. The mid-week crowd was chill, quiet, and relaxed. We had the pool to ourselves. However, as soon as it hit friday evening, the crowd changed to loud, campy, drinks in the pool, etc. Definitely consider both of these vibes in making your decision.

One kind of weird thing is that around early evening, there was a guest who was naked at the pool. Even though this is not a clothing optional place, some guests don't know how to respect the rules. Just be aware that when all is said and done, this still is palm springs (and I think this guest was pretty drunk), and for palm springs, this is pretty mild for these guest houses.

In the end, we definitely come back and we could recommend it to all of our friends.

They charged my credit card multiple times, continue to tell me they will refund the extra charges, but have not yet done so.

Customer feedback is an important part of our business and we welcome all comments, both positive and negative, so we can provide an ever increasing level of service to our guests.

We would like to take this opportunity to respond to these comments.

There was indeed a duplicate set of transactions that occurred due to an error at our credit card processor that affected 10 customers. We worked with our card processor to ensure an accurate and timely solution. Their representative was on property daily throughout this process. All correction credits have been processed, cleared, and passed onto cardholder's banks for credit to their accounts.

The correction process did take longer than we would have liked, however we are not in control of card processors and banks procedures. We communicated to all affected about the issue and its ongoing resolution.

We are committed to maintaining an impeccable reputation for both the quality and services we provide. When an error is made that affects a customer we do everything possible in our control to make it right for our customer.

It was an anniversary stay that was relaxing, restful, and fun! The pool is the perfect size for cooling off from the over 105 degree heat of august, and for getting to know new people. Jason and Richard were gracious and accommodating. Grady was about the best massage therapist, ever! Completely in tune with his customers! Both of us easily felt all the tension drain away! Loved it! Thanks ECH for making two girls feel welcome!

We had stayed at other Gay Resorts before, but enjoyed the chilled and friendly atmosphere and beautiful grounds. The fact it is NOT clothing optional made quite a pleasant difference - people would look you in the eye when they chatted.

Highly recommended for a quite relaxing escape.

Stayed here for three nights in Mid-July. Was looking for a low key, friendly place with on site spa services. The staff and patrons were very friendly. Iced tea and free drinks by the pool! Wonderful grounds with a truly clean and sparkling pool and comfortable lounges. Of course lots of sun, but many shady spots too! The rooms are very nice , clean, roomy, and supplied with plenty of great bath and pool towels. Cookies in the room upon arrival is a great touch. Lots of couples and some singles. People are reading by the pool, enjoying conversations or just quietly relaxing. The spa services I tried; provided by Sonia and Grady(facial and massage) are on site and excellent! The spa facilities are modern and clean. The website for this little hotel is excellent. What they say is what you get, and I couldn't be happier with my stay. I'll definitely be back!

East Canyon is managed and maintained to near perfection! You will be hard pressed to find a detail overlooked by Richard and his staff..

I actually believe that the website somewhat undersells the property. On the other hand it is difficult to describe exactly what they do here. If a calm, low key , friendly vacation with adults is what you seek … book the room. That is exactly what you receive and so much more. East Canyon is far beyond common and yet never ever snobbish.

During my visit the guests at the hotel crossed every demographic line. Let go of any concerns you might have about fitting in at a gay resort because the focus at East Canyon is relaxation. No parade of fabulous here, just folks hanging out in the sun. As a solo traveler I had no trouble finding nice people to hang with and in fact I intend to stalk two of them out here in the real world. (ha! J and W if you read this I am kidding)

I cannot imagine being disappointed in East Canyon Hotel and Spa.
