We booked this hotel off Trip Advisor reviews...and we loved it from the moment Lucy greeted us at the door until we sadly had to leave!! It was 2 days of heaven...the pool was wonderful...loved our room...the ambience of the hotel is second to none! We will definitely be back!

Palm Springs was our first stop after our arrival 2 days before in LA. When looking for a hotel we trusted in Trip Advisor and booked for one night in the Hotel California - and it most definitely wasn't a mistake! Right after we've seen the room and the hotel we asked if it was possible to extend our stay to two nights - and luckily it was!
We were given a beautiful two-story room that just had everything you need while travelling. Two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a really nice and comfortable bed. Everything was clean and functional and we felt really comfortable.
The pool and the Jacuzzi were just heavenly and fitted right in the garden/pool area they have created, having and showing the rustic charm and romance all over the place.
I can safely say that Lucy, Jay, Mike and the whole team were the most welcoming one we have met during our 3 week road trip. They all are well informed about all attractions and possibilities around Palm Springs and both suggestions we got for dinner were really good.

We would have loved to be able to stay longer and if we ever get back to the US this is the place where we will return! Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

All the best!
Anthony & Corinne

My fiancé and I stayed here for 1 night this week and had a fantastic stay.

The moment you arrive Lucy greets you with her amazing zest for life and great customer service. She is second to none.

Having stayed at The Trump in Las Vegas the night before I found the family run vibe and small hotel very refreshing.

It's a beautiful hotel with a lovely quiet pool area. The rooms are good with a comfortable bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen area with a BBQ in the garden should you wish to cook and free coffee and water.

We ate at The Falls Steakhouse based on Lucy's recommendation and it was the best steak I have ever had. Trust me, I've eaten a few and in good steakhouses too!

My only wish was that I could have stayed a few more days, but hey ho, all good things must come to an end.

I'll be looking to come back on my next trip to California.

Thank you Hotel California.

Wonderful little boutique hotel. Very romantic and peaceful. The only one thing missing is a bartender poolside. The tiki bar looked so sad and empty all the time. All of the staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful as well as informed as to the best places to go out and about.
K.C. was my welcoming committee and made me feel instantly at home. Lucy especially made my visit a fun one with afternoon chats. Jay Allen & Mike were super entertaining.

Was sorry to have to leave after 5 days, wishing it would have been a little bit longer. I am already considering a re-visit before years end.

Room Tip: Room 11 overlooking the pool area but above ground level was by far the most private yet most conven...

Stopped in Palm Springs for two nights on our way to our final destination in San Diego. Our stay was so pleasant, next time this will be our final destination. Service was unsurpassed and the junior suite will again be our choice in the future.

This is a small and friendly family-run inn which we chose on the basis of other trip advisor reviews; we would have to agree that it was a pleasure to stay here. We arrived in the first week of September and therefore slightly off peak, so there was plenty of room availability. The inn does not offer any meals, however, each of the rooms has a kitchen area and a fridge, there is a little free snack basket containing things such as pretzels and there is a large communal kitchen which has free beverages, fruit and sweets available all day which was nice. The staff are also happy to do the washing up after you.
We would recommend taking a trip by car down the road to "Ralphs", the local supermarket to stock up on provisions if, like us, you don't fancy eating out for every meal. There is also a BBQ area by the kitchen which if nice - although we didn't use it. If you come from the UK then "Ralphs" is a little like a fusion between Marks and Spencers and Waitrose, and you get a small discount as a hotel guest.
Whilst the rooms themselves are not luxurious (we chose a standard King), they had everything we needed to end our California road trip and the place itself is very romantic. The pool and hot tub is open 24/7 and we went in at midnight once or twice with a bottle of wine to watch the stars!
One thing that we felt distinguished this place from many of the other places and why we gave it a 5 star was a number of small things which one would not normally expect in a place for this price range. Firstly, the hotel was extremely flexible with regards to checking out for no extra cost (we had an evening flight from LA so left at 3pm). As there was no one staying in our room that evening, the owner's daughter Lucy allowed us to stay there until the mid afternoon and we used the pool. When we left the hotel we drove straight to LAX airport which was only an hour and 45 minutes away (we didn't experience any traffic jams).
One other thing that we liked was the library of DVDs in the communal living room which we could borrow to take back to our rooms for no cost. The pool area had complimentary sun lotion and there was complimentary wine on our arrival. Essentially, combined with the surrounds - hummingbirds flying about our heads as we relaxed by the pool, this was a thoroughly relaxing experience. The 40 degree heat was a little high for us so we did not take advantage of the free hotel bikes, but that was an option. The hotel sitting room also has copies of many of the local restaurant menus so you can have a perusal in advance to avoid taking a trip to too many places.
We would recommend going downtown on Thursday nights for anyone planning a stay in Palm Springs - this is a market day and shops open late with stalls on the street. There is free parking in the large car park just behind the main street which we used. One thing to note is that you will have to drive to get to downtown - walking is a little far and quite hot. The local restaurants are quite good - we recommend going to Elmas for breakfast/ brunch. We also had dinner at Johnny Costas which was also pleasant.
Overall, this was a lovely stay and we would recommend anyone coming to Palm Springs and looking for a small, romantic place (with no little children splashing about!) to stay here. We would certainly come again.

Small, cozy, far from luxurious, and yet the best hotel I've stayed in in Palm Springs. Staff knows you by name. Attention to detail is impeccable (free Diet Cokes in the mini-fridge, a basket of sunscreen by the pool, not a spec of dust anywhere). Sound travels quickly and through the walls here, so it's best to keep one's voice down in the evening. Bubbling fountains quell the little noises, but raucous hot tub banter elicits a stern "shut up" from nearby rooms. At the prices they charge, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Plus I really like Diet Coke.
